Spleenful was formed in Porto Alegre in the year of 2012 when Tiago Alano (vocals) and Lucas Cabral (guitars) started writing their first songs together. The idea was mix elements of Gothic, Black, Death, Prog and classical music to create a unique and different sound. To fit with the dark ambient from the songs, all the lyrics were inspired on the accursed literature from writers such as like Lord Byron, Charles Baudelaire, Álvares de Azevedo, Alfred de Musset, among others. Horror, vampirism, necrophilia, absinth, lost loves: everything is included in the lyrical universe of Spleenful.

Inicially formed to be a studio project, the band became a main priority with the arrival of singer Bianca Giovanella, who contributed with her influences to define the ultimate Spleenful sound. The line-up also includes Caio Botrel (guitars), Igor Thomaz (bass) and Carlos Wilke (drums).
