Biografia : Slumpark Correctional

The unofficial start of slumpark correctional was back in the summer of 2003, when long time friends skeeter (guitar), samer zaza (vocals), ahmad hafez (drums), and sami zreik (guitar) decided to get together and record two songs composed by skeeter. after a while they knew that it will take more than just an innocent attempt to get this successful and over way. the four just then continued to jam together for a while, before hafez and skeeter left the country in the autumn. later in February 2005, skeeter came up with another recording project. he already has composed quite a number of songs, and tried to get them recorded in Lebanon unsuccessfully for several times. he wanted to get back and reform the old band of 2003 with the same bunch. during may 2005, the band was officially formed up: the old four members plus mohammad haddad on bass guitar. a short while after the jamming, hafez and haddad decided not to contribute to the recording, because thrash metal (which is what the band was playing) did not fit their style of playing. they remained in the jamming nonetheless, but sami zreik switched to drums, while skeeter was about to record bass and guitars. with only three members left, the band was looking for more variety in music, and while watching a jam session for sami's other rock band at the university's music room in latakia, the band was very impressed with the voices of ali khalil, and maya mamich. the two were excellent additions to the band's now wide range of singing. shortly the drums and bass were recorded at a home studio in latakia, by skeeter and sami zreik, and skeeter went to lebanon to record the guitars at kimaera's studio after being very impressed with their guitar recording samples. he met robi eid, skeeter's band mate from "blitzkreig" a cover band in Lebanon. robi contributed to the recording with a nice solo. skeeter went back to syria when the band was ready to record the vocals, and after 2 weeks of recording, samer, ali, and maya have all done their job. 5 tracks were ready, and although the line up is not complete yet, we can still say that a band is formed.

shortly after the release of the demo, samer and maya left the band due to contradicting tastes in music. the band's main vocalist would be ali khalil, and to complete the lineup, amer kan'an and ziad khalil were brought from the band "mute" to contribute to the recording of the new demo, with a view of a changing style, closer to modern thrash metal than traditional thrash/death metal.
