The seeds of OVERHATE were planted in 1999 when chapa and joseph began looking for musicians to make a band. That band, known then as Mermelada Maker, was playing around night clubs, bars, and small concerts in the city. After a lot line-ups changes, in 2001 Erick join in the band as a guitar player. Giancarlo joined later in 2003 as the bassist/vocalist, completing the line up, of the band. Reborn as OVERHATE, the band continued making music and live shows. After a short time they made a demo record sending that gave the attention to book some good live shows around the country. The recording process began shortly after, and then “God In A Trench” is born.

The musical concept is full of speed and hard riffs, with inteligent sublimes and twisted melodies influenced by the old school and some of the new sounds.

God In A Trench, title explanation: Believe it or not, when men, or soldiers in this case are at a front line, their live's go between fear, horror, death, and blood, these men remember God, they call him, ask him and send prayers to him, when the strenght and faith it's gone, they can see God through their eyes, so, this is the time, the hour, the minute, the second when the men want to be between his arms, they want God to be in the trench.

The band has a very wide and vast expectre of Influences, to name a few, Thrash Metal is it's Flag but speed metal, progressive rock and grind core too. The low-tuned sound is a essential additive to Overhate's style, making the band become a hate driven killing machine.
