Old Castles Massacre is the first ever Sri Lankan Brutal/Death Metal Band.A never ending thirst for blood, a morbid fascination with death, gore and mutilation brought Shalinda and Ranga together to form Old Castles Massacre in the latter half of 2002, The band was heavily influenced by the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation, Cryptopsy, Nile, Six Feet under, Morbid Angel, Disgorge and Carcass. Travis and Shabby joined the band soon afterwards and the line up was complete. Old Castles Massacre comprised of Shalinda's growls, ranga's thunderous blast beats, shabby's guitaring and venemous bass lines by Travis. The bands debut gig was at "Silent Scream 2005" which was organised by the Kandy rock merger and Old Castles Massacre shared the stage with the likes of Siblings Of Hatred, Forlorn Hope and Wolfpack. Shabby and Travis went thier seperate ways after the concert and soon the band has Dilanka in their ranks as their new guitarist and Dineth served as a session bassist for the band. The band played several gigs in Gampaha and Nittambuwa and also took part in "Silent Scream 2006" with Forlorn Hope,Spleen siant and Fallen Grace.
