Through dark, we appreciate that which basks in light, Noctis believe in crafting music to feed these emotions and explore the darker feelings from which we all suffer. Noctis use dark, melodic, melancholic and emotional sounds, with lyrics about passion, dreams, death, darkness, nature and inner struggles of the mind.

Noctis are a Western Australian metal band from Perth, formed in 2005 by brothers Daniel Mazzarol and Ben Mazzarol, the early Noctis sound was a mish mash of many genres. After a year or two of changing their songs, they developed more of a Doom/Death Metal sound with the joining of Sam Terlick. Noctis has since refined this sound, which is broader, has a more emotive feel, with more progressive riffs, and overall darker message.
Ben Mazzarol is also drummer in Melodic Death Metal band Vespers Descent (www.vespersdescent.com.au) he also had drumming roles in other bands, Such as Chaos Divine (www.chaosdivine.net) playing on their Ratio Album. Sam Terlick originally started in his first band Anacrisis (http://www.myspace.com/anacrisismetal) and his other band Bereavement (http://www.myspace.com/bereavementbm) was formed in 2006. Alex Canion plays in Tradition Metal band Psychonaut (www.psychonaut-au.com) he is currently also taking over bass duties in Progressive Metal band Voyager (www.voyager-australia.com).
Noctis have completed their debut effort 'For Future's Past', just shy of 30 minutes, the collection of work spanning the best effort to date, will serve as a marker, and provide a platform for the growth which will continue well into the future.
