Signed to the Spinefarm label, Naildown, is a breath of fresh air in the melodic death/power metal hall of fame. Naildown´s album belies the fact it is only their debut by the sheer diversity and talent on offer here. The band members, hailing from the Eastern Finland, have already cut their teeth with several underground bands. Naildown was born in November 2003 under the name Acid Universe: two demos later, the band had shaken off their project status and emerged on the scene as a full-time death-dealing force.Combining the best of both melodic death metal in the vein of Children of Bodom, In Flames and Soilwork with power metal riffs, while effortlessly alternating between several vocal styles (from the gruffest Alexi Laiho bark to Amorphis-style croon), Naildown certainly know the tricks of their trade. and then some: there are a few surprises on the way. Rather remarkably, even at their most complex Naildown manage to add a catchy twist or two.This is not the last you will hear of this bunch, that much is sure. If you like your metal fast, loud and melodic, look no further.
