Biografia : Merging Flare

The story of Merging Flare can practically be seen having started in 1993 when two schoolmates, guitarist Kasperi Heikkinen and drummer Henri Pyy, started to play heavy rock music together in the footsteps of AC/DC. The guys went on with varying set-ups and their musical style changed more towards metal. This phase included a melodic metal band Disease that - alongside Heikkinen and Pyy - consisted of guitarist Joni Hattuniemi and bassist Harri Leinonen and later also vocalist Matias Palm. Disease then came to its end in 2000.

In 2001 a new band Merging Flare was born and it consisted of the same members as Disease in its last days. The band started heavy training with new songs and released a web single "Star Odyssey" getting some nice feedback on it. A full demo saw daylight in 2003. However it suffered from weak production and therefore didn't pay the band much tribute.

In late 2004 Merging Flare entered the Content Union Studio in Helsinki to record 3 songs for a new promo CD. This could be seen as a wise choice, as the band finally got a production that did justice to their songs. Hell to Pay! promo was released in April 2005 and it was accepted really well by the metal medias around the world.

In 2006 it was agreed that Imperiumi Records would release the next studio release of Merging Flare, this time it being a split-MCD with Gamma Ray tribute Guardians of Mankind. The band saw this as a nice opportunity to record 2 new and catchy MF songs with a killer production from the good old Content Union Studio boosted by the mastering work of Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios, Helsinki. The new split record "Under The Fire" can now see its release at the Finnish Metal Expo in Helsinki 16.02.2007.

Right now it remains to be seen where this new EP will lead the band. However, it can be well said that the MF team are back stronger than ever!
