Atmospheric black metal band MATER MONSTIFERA rose in the end of summer 2000. The first Line-up was: Yvor - guitar, backing vocals & programing, Destructor - vocals and Jitka - keyboards. In few weeks later came Astral Vampire - lead guitar. In the end this year MATER MONSTIFERA recorded and released their first demo "Svice Zivota". After releasing band focused on concerts support. During this time crystallized the style of the band - it is atmospheric black metal with strong suppord of keyboards. In spring 2001 came to the band Abogarth as bass gutarist.

After one year band went again in studio "Prodigy" in Budweis to record their second stuff. The MCD was released through the I.F.A.records in the summer 2002. In autumn went away Astral Vampire because of familial reasons. From this time he co-operates with band as studio guitarist. His place in band took Archangel.

Next two years (2003-2004) the band pursued huge number of live performances. In the second half of the year 2004 band started to prepare to record their debut album. The first album was recorded in April and May 2005 and was released by I.F.A.records in June 2005. Special guests on this record are Astral Vampire (Lead gutar) and Grief (ex-Immortal Tears singer)
