MASS COMA came into existance in november 2008 through the frustration, anger and persistence of four individuals who have been involved in the punk/metal scene for most of their lives.

as artists both visually and sonically we have an ever increasing responsibility to change the masses perception of the world we live in! Art is not there for the enjoyment of rich onlookers, we have a duty to future generation to pull back the veil that hides the truth, and peoples' eyes to the infinite possibilities of our species.

Various bands, soundscapes and collectives have come and gone, some politicially motivated, some for the sheer hell of making an intense noise and venting angst. Some members have links to the 80's anarcho punk scene, others through thrash/extreme metal, but all became involved with the project that is MASS COMA by a common love for music, and sheer chance and fate! Old allegiances are renewed, new friendships made! Old politics and the state of the planet are more relevant for some members than ever, with an urgency to make people aware of the corrupt fucks that rule, control and shape our lives. Also, a concern about how the public seem to be desensitized to it all by consumerism, television, paranoia and lies is our common motivation.

We are not naive enough to think that being in a band will change anything, it never did, but if we can make one listener question the world around them, open their eyes and wake up to what's happening because of money, government control and oil, then the project is worthwhile.
