FrostFire play a progressive blend of melodic heavy metal, with powerful riffs and soaring dual harmony guitars. Formed in February ’08 they played their debut gig at the Farrington Gurney Hootenanny in November ’08 to a sell out crowd. The band originally played together as the metal band ‘Darkhaven’ back in 1996, gigged and recorded the EP ‘Scarlet Rain’, before amicably going their separate ways in 1998. Jayson Horman went on to play in grunge-rock covers band ‘Moneyshot’, gigging widely across the south west, whilst Tony Osborne, Matt Smith and frontman Martyn Bowell, formed progressive metal band ‘Dakaraius’ with guitarist Dave Prabhu, gigging and recording two albums – ‘The Once and Future King’ and ‘What Waits at the Hollow’. Ten years later, having lost touch with Jayson, a chance meeting led to Tony, Matt and Martyn forming a second band with Jayson alongside ‘Dakaraius’. FrostFire began writing songs immediately, discovering that even having not played together for ten years, the writing teamwork was as fresh and inspired as ever! FrostFire have finished recording their demo EP ‘Wintersfall’ and will have their first self-recorded full album ‘Nightspell’ available soon..
