Biografia : Drug Honkey

Honkey Head (Paul Gillis) came from a Death Metal background with his bands Crematorium and Gorgasm (erstwhile Embodied) while Bonghit Honkey (Adam Smith) had his foundations in the Drum 'n' Bass and Rave scene in Chicago. Both of them got together to create something that was different and original. Drug Honkey's eponymous debut album released by the band in 2002 was a harsh mixture of electronics and metal.

Adding a full line-up, Drug Honkey went on to release 'Hail Satan' in 2005. It was a groundbreaking release for the band in terms of establishing its sound and identity. The widely renowned video of the song Heroin was from this album. It was the band's most psychedelic effort which raised eyebrows of whoever heard it. The band went on to play many live shows in support of this album which led to the release of the live EP 'Quatro de Mayo'. The live rendition of the song China Black (Heroin Pt.II) was a stellar piece that made its way into the next full length album 'Death Dub' which was the band's most furious and powerful album yet. It caught the attention of Kunal Choksi after it was featured on his Diabolical Conquest webzine and he arranged for worldwide promotion and distribution of the self released album under the auspices of his new record label.

'Ghost in the Fire' was released in 2012 by Diabolical Conquest. It is the band's most accomplished album till date, showcasing the darker, visceral, hallucinatory sound of Drug Honkey. It garnered shocking reviews from the worldwide press who are still trying to pigeonhole the band's unique sound.
