Donpheebin took the music scene by storm in 1993 with the success of their heavy metal debut album " Loke Mued " ( Dark World ) and they still going strong. Their second album " Way of Death " with more of a death - metal edge, has equalled the success of the first album and has secured them a firm place at the top of the metal music scene.

The three Kaewthit brothers that make up Donpheebin have improved musically on their album, as can be evidenced by Kid ' s powerful screaming, Sombat ferocious guitar soloing and Somsak ' s pounding drums. Way of Death has a violent, heavier sound than their debut album. To create the album which was based partially on personal experience, the band prepared carefully, making sure to stick to their schedule as well as their butget. The name of the band. Donpheebin was adapted from their hometown in the northern province of Nan. The original name was Donton and was later changed to Din Daen Phee Longloy ( Land of Wandering Ghosts ),which was taken from the villager ' s perception that a section of the village was haunted.The village was once the site of a bloody battlefield, said Sombat.The trio composed and produced the tracks on the second album themselves, as they did on the previous album. We are own our band. So we intend to take every step musically on our own.Way of Death is under the dpb production. and was mixed by themsevles and sound engineer Ugrid Phithakprachakit.Sombat, who played guitar for the album, said Way of Death is more conceptual than their first album which was about a number of different copies.The central theme of the album is the industrial problems in society. It is about the competition be tween people who lose their freedom and spirit in our rapidly developing society, Sombat said. While society is developing, the mentality of man is suffering because of labour abuse and pollution"Actually, I don't mean that social development is bad thing.But the stresses of development fall directly onto the people living within the society" ,he said, adding that this idea expressed in the lyrics of " Death City ""We will have a newly built illusionary city of which the population not only has to pay for water and electricity, but will probably have to pay for the very air they breathe in the future, he continued.In fact, he says that this already occuring today and citied examples of people paying for the comparatively clean air they breathe in air - conditioned offices or homes. he said that air pollution levels have reached a crisis level, and if people be come upset enough, violence could result. He pointed out that people have already begun to wear masks just to breathe when walk down the street.Other songs on the album include " We going to.... " " Edge of Way ", " Commanded Society ", " Today...Tomorrow ", " Hell paradise " and " To late "The album also features an intrumental piece titled " After the dust " , which was composed by useing sound effects of thunder and rain in the introduction.Sombat designed the album cover, as he did on the debut. On the cover is a pathway that goes far in to the distance. Along the path are representative of many of the problems in today ' s society.The long hair axeman said that Way of Death is like a warning to all people about the danger which can come as a result of their actions, especially if people choose not to take responsibility for their actions.

The second album was recorded in Jam Studio in two months, a much shorter time period than their debut album which took three years to complete. So far the feedback has been positive, While their debut album sold 90,000 copies, their follow - up has already outscripped it, selling 120,000.
