Demonicon, a Minneapolis-based Death Metal band, is one of the loudest, most brutal acts this genre has yet experienced. Combining a dual vocal assault and a vicious mixture of technicality and slow-pounding riffs, the band"s motto says it all: "Where chaos and brutality collide". Formed in 1993 by Brian Owens and Bill Hedal as a trio under the moniker "Dominion", the band has seen a revolving door of members over the years -- a necessary growth giving way to the solid chemistry of the current, strongest line up. Founding member Owens" already proven talents are now joined by vocal-chord shredding frontman Brandon Almendinger, fast and furious guitar artistry of Anthony Columbus, set against the cold-steel, relentless framework of Patrick Morris" bass and Corey Jones" drums. While still under the Dominion name, Demonicon self-pressed and distributed their first cd, "Soul"s Redemption". Between this cd and numerous appearances at Milwaukee Metalfest, opening slots for countless national bands, and a 2002 appearance at the Chicago Deathfest, (not to mention a strong and ever-growing fan base) the band was brought to the attention of Root of All Evil Records. The band"s second (but first full-length) cd, "Condemned Creation" was put out by that label shortly thereafter. "Condemned Creation" not only strengthened the fan base even more, but also garnered rave reviews from underground fanzines and magazines including S.O.D., Transcending the Mundane, Rue Morgue, and Wormgear. Now, with the release of their third cd,"Bloodlust", Demonicon is ready to take on the world. This is the most solid, most vicious, yet artistic album the band has done to date.
