Biografia : Delicate News

Delicate News is a German Crossover/Metalband from Erlangen formed in December 1988 under the first name “Rattlehead”. Dietmar Felten and Rainer Ressemann worked out songwriting, which was influenced by early recordings of Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden etc.. In December 1988 Sven Gallenbacher – drums and Thomas Siegl - bass completed the band. Under several line-ups two Demo-tapes entitled Rattlehead and Screaming Days were released from 1989 to 1990. After this, Dietmar Felten changed his position at rhythm-guitar to the band's singer. The first "official" Delicate News-line up (Dietmar Felten – vocals; Rainer Ressemann – guitars; Thomas Siegl – bass; Peter Zupancic – drums) startet in January 1991 and released a demo-mc in april 1991 entitled Occurences Beyond The Bark, which was recorded at the Megasound-Studios in Eckental Germany by Jochen Höfler. In the following, Delicate News played gigs in several pubs and prepared to release their first CD-Album The Mirth In A Dead Man's Yell, which was recorded in April to May 1992. This tape was also recorded at the Megasound-Studios by Jochen Höfler. Because of some problems (Jochen couldn't find the mastertape -"maybe the postman got's it"- ha ha), the release of the album was in March 1993. In the same month the band entered Megasound-Studios again to record the 4-Track E.P., which became an experimental project. After finishing the E.P.- recording, Jan Horstman of Deadly Dustbins replaced Thomas Siegl as bass-player in April 1993. With Jan Delicate News prepared 7 new titles for the next recording-session in March 1994 in Reutlingen at Marquee-Studions by Hardy Heinlin. The bands issue was to create songs with more aggressive sound as the recordings had before. To finish the next album Delicate News joined Marquee-Studios again and recorded another 7 titles in July 1995. In this time Delicate News reached a very strange kind of songwriting caused on the conscience that bands energy is through and a split is possible. And so it came. Dietmar Felten – vocals left Delicate News in December 1995 to join an another project and because of his desire to write German lyrics. Nevertheless a last recording of three titles took place with Dietmar Felten in Hardy Heinlin's new studio in Pfullingen in February 1996 and the tracklist of the second CD-Album Scoff was finished, which was released in September 1996. After the Scoff - Release Jan Horstmann left Delicate News in November 1997 and Rainer Ressemann and Peter Zupancic tried to find a new line-up, which was very difficult. So both searched for a singer to take part at a studio-project. Finally the project was realized in June to July 2001 with Andreas Kolbeck, who played in several coverbands as drummer and singer and Thomas Siegl - bass as a guest-musician. The Album Flashback was recorded in Streitberg at Separate Sound Studios by Christoph Beyerlein. The band has never been signed to a major label, but chose to be independent.
