DEF/LIGHT (metal band) is a Ukrainian band which is normally referred to as the one in Black/Death Metal genre. One of the distinguishing features of the band's creative work is sticking to the dark atmosphere of Black Metal while using some elements from other extreme styles. Expression of our own philosophical and musical outlook with no compromise to fashion and other ideologies which are formed with person's dependency is the most important for the band.

The main idea of DEF/LIGHT's creative work is development, freedom, anticlericalism, and mysticism. Over the last 9 years of band's existence they have achieved a lot: 2 released albums Benedictus Ash (2008) and Hateforhateone(2010), they have performed at more than 100 concerts including those in Europe. The third release is expected in spring 2013.
