The Finnish Charon was formed in 1992 as a brutal death metal act and recorded a demo the following year. Another two demo releases led up to a deal with Emanzipation Productions for their debut album. The second album was released on the Danish label Diehard Music before finally ending up with Spinefarm Records in 2000. During spring 2000 Charon also toured their home country in support of Sentenced. In the autumn of 2000 the band also signed a deal with the Finnish booking agency Dex Viihde.
