The Chrudim's heavy metal band ALTRACENT is based on the former group BLACK WOOD. At the end of 1997, a new project under the name ALTRACENT was set up by the singer Peter Malek and the guitarist Zdenek MALEK.

The group's official first formation consisted of Mr. Zdenek MALEK /guitar/, Mr.Henry KAFKA /drums&percussion/, Mr. Peter MALEK /singer/, Mr. Mark KOLBABA /guitar/ and Mr. Martin VACHA /bass guitar/.

During this period, the band's repertoire included mainly the cover songs of the foreign and domestic metal music scene. It included songs from foreign legends as Judas Priest, Accept, Manowar, Kiss, AC/DC, Metalicca , R.J.Dio and also songs from the Czech groups Vitacit, Citron, Arakain, Titanik, etc. The group's main aim was to support the return of the heavy metal scene in this region.

During the next few years, the group trained and played in different formations and some members tried to take a place in this group with great or low success. After several changes, the band stabilized its formation, style and expression.

ALTRACENT performed shows at many dance parties, rock festivals, motorcyclist reunion parties, private and charity events. The group was also seen as the support of the well-known Czech groups ARAKAIN, TORR, ALKEHOL and others.

ALTRACENT has started to focus on the creation of its own production in the style of heavy /speed/ metal, which is presented on its albums. In 2004 it realized CD called „the Vampire Lady" in the Czech version. Another album, which is being prepared during 2005 in the English version, is called "Fight with the time".

The current configuration of the group is: Mr. Lukhas HAVEL / guitar/, Mr. Martin GREGOR /guitar/, Mr. Peter MALEK /singer/, Mr. Peter LICHTENBERK / drums&percussion/, Mr. Thomas JAROH /bass guitar/.
