Alien Gods was formed in 2005 when vocalist Olik, guitarist Raju, drummer Ravi and bassist/keyboardist Papu, got together to jam in their hometown Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. Before the band came together as Alien Gods, most of the band members had already been involved in the local music scene for some years, though it was only when the four musicians met each other and found they had the same musical influences did the music really begin to happen for them.

Influenced by bands like Cannibal Corpse, Cradle of Filth, Emperor, Iron Maiden, Katalysm, Satyricon, Six feet under, Black Sabbath, Mayhem, Burzum, Dimmu Borgir, Deicide, Amon Amarth, Dying Foetus, Venom, Bathory, Gorgoroth, Rotting Christ, Witch Leavings, Sodom, Rammstien, Type o Negative etc., Alien Gods honed their skill playing concerts in and around Arunachal for 2 years. Then in 2007 they participated in ‘Campus Rock Idols’ a nation wide band competition in Shillong, and the Hornbill Festival competition in Nagaland and though they returned empty handed the audience response they received was very encouraging.
Although our influences range from black metal and death metal, it would be hypocritical to level ourselves to the genres. As both the music styles require a very high level of dedication to their beliefs/philosophies/religion/musical concepts etc. which we cannot at all maintain. Those bands /musicians are truly great. These genres have also tempted a lot of posers, which is a shame. We don’t want to be the fastest, the heaviest or the most evil band in the world, we just want to create the music that we love listen to or to bang our heads to, Metal; even if it has to be lightning fast, heavy as hell or as blasphemous as the one with the forked tongue. Credit to all the fucking metal bands out there that keeps inspiring in every ways.
The tracks you’re listening to on this page, ‘Animal Party, Dead and decayed and Lunar blackened Blood’, are ‘trial demos’ that the band recorded at their rehearsal room totally lo-fi. They will be heading to the studio soon to begin work on their debut album.
Alien Gods stands against Drugs abuse, this is as a recovering process for Godshredder, a recovering Addict. They have also organized Rock shows in the town of Pasighat, providing a platform for younger bands and musicians namely the Hurricane Night and Siang rock contest.
