Biografia : Acid Rain (SRB)

The band Acid Rain was founded in Belgrade in 2001, by brothers Nikola (guitar) and Zarko (bass) Krstovic, who were then joined by drummer Marko Jankovic, forming the foundation of the band. The band started out playing covers of heavy metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Metallica and Megadeth. After several member changes, which put the band on hold for a period of time, Acid Rain decides to get back together. The band also decides to changes the style of music which they play in accordance with the musical maturity they have gained, and start playing mostly power metal covers of songs from bands such as Stratovarius, Hammerfall, Kamelot, Yngwie Malmsteen and Helloween. Guitarist Bojan Petrovic, keyboardist Damjan Dobrila and vocalist Goran Spasojevic join the band and Acid Rain begins to work more seriously.

The band plays at Radio 202's Hit of the Week show in Dom Omladine on February 29, 2004, where they receive an excellent response from the crowd, which encourages the band to keep working. However, shortly after, vocalist Goran Spasojevic leaves the band, but the band quickly finds a replacement in Marko Capljic. They play the Radio 202 Hit of the Week show again on June 6, 2004. After yet another successful outing, Acid Rain turns its attention to creating its own music and two original songs are quickly completed, “Shattered Mirror” and the instrumental “Alpha,” which introduced the band's music to the public via Radio 202. The band's music, written by guitarist Nikola Krstovic, is in the progressive/power metal style, influenced by bands like Symphony X, Labyrinth and Kamelot.

Drummer Marko Jankovic and keyboardist Damjan Dobrila then leave the band and are replaced by Nikola Roglic and Vladimir Ajruloski respectively. In February 2005, the band releases its first demo CD entitled “Alpha,” on which four tracks can be found: “Alpha,” “Legacy,” “Shattered Mirror,” and “Red Ocean.” The demo receives positive comments from the public and media. As the band begins to prepare to present their music in a live setting, Bojan Petrovic, Nikola Roglic and Vladimir Ajruloski all leave the band. The band stops working once again for a longer period of time and uses the time to promote their demo CD and continue working on new songs for the debut album.

After a long and unsuccessful search for band members, Acid Rain finally finds young drummer Nikola Vojvodic and Vladimir Ajruloski returns to the band. The band decides to continue playing with only one guitar player. Ajruloski leaves the band once again and Acid Rain is again without a keyboardist. Meanwhile, songs from the “Alpha” demo CD remain at the top of the progressive metal charts at Download.com for several months. In November 2005, the young and very talented keyboardist Matija Andjelkovic joins the band, as well as drummer Andrej Misic and the Acid Rain starts playing live again. During 2005/2006 the band had many great gigs, and concerts in Belgrade and across Serbia.

Due to many personal changes in band, and other issues band stoped playing live in middle of 2006.

After almost 2 years break, band is going to record new EP, and start playing live during 2008.
