Biografia : Absolute Terror Field

"Every being has an AT Field, the literal wall that separates one's identity from other egos and external reality and which supports one's having a separate existence from others. Thus, it is also the cause of loneliness and pain. The term Absolute Terror Field has its roots in mainstream psychology, and is comparable to the perceived physical (or mental) proximity at which an autistic person or someone similarly affected by conditions of a high ego will panic and become irrational or violent if someone or something that they do not recognize penetrates that proximity. In other terms, it is the threshold of violation of personal space. It would theoretically follow that all humans (and likely most animal organisms) have Absolute Terror Fields of lesser magnitudes. This can be illustrated by issues of trust: most people would not appreciate a total stranger touching them inappropriately or whispering in their ear, since such actions violate a sensibility concerning proximity that is tied directly to how much one trusts the other person".

Absolute Terror Field is a swedecore band based in Rome (Italy). Born in 2008, their songs are a fair balance between swedish melodic death metal (In Flames, At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity) and US metalcore (Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Unearth). ATF sound goes back to the Swedish mood, clearly visible in their massive use of melodic arrangements, guitar solos and thrash rhythms while vocals are in such hardcore style, not despising groovy clean choruses.
A first demo was recorded in 2008 at Refuse Studios by Fulvio ICB. Two tracks, “Dead or Alive” and “The Horror Within” became very popular in the local scene, such as ATF live shows. In 2009 Sandro leaved the band due to personal problems and Peppe joined the band In these years Absolute Terror Field have played with Malevolent Creation, Fintroll, Vomitory, Infernal Poetry, Kernel Zero, The Modern Age Slavery, Subliminal Crusher, In Cold Blood, Dr. Gore, Human Dirge, Notanumber, Following The Shade, S.R.L, withate, Tsubo, Nerodia, Motherstone, Backjumper and many others.
In 2010 Absolute Terror Field record their debut album called 'The Hedgehog's Dilemma' Absolute Terror Field can be related to the so-called "Hedgehog's dilemma" whereby a person feels (psychological) pain from loneliness, yet paradoxically, the closer he/she gets to someone else (emotionally), the more he/she is 'hurt'. The hedgehog's dilemma is an analogy about the challenges of human intimacy. It describes a situation in which a group of hedgehogs all seek to become close to one another in order to share their heat during cold weather. However, once accomplished, they cannot avoid hurting one another with their sharp quills. They must step away from one another. Though they all share the intention of a close reciprocal relationship, this may not occur for reasons which they cannot avoid.

Both Schopenhauer and Freud have used this situation to describe what they feel is the state an individual will find themselves in relation to others. The hedgehog's dilemma suggests that despite goodwill, human intimacy cannot occur without substantial mutual harm, and what results is cautious behavior and weak relationships. With the hedgehog's dilemma one is recommended to use moderation in the affairs with others both because it is in self-interest, and also out of consideration for others.
Recorded by Valerio Fisik @ Hombre Lobo in Rome, “The Hedgehog’s Dilemma” is a 9 tracks album of swedecore metal. It’s a journey through uneasiness, disease and suffering of human condition.
In Decembre 2010, Absolute Terror Field sign a contract with the german label Power Pain Records for the worldwide digital distribution of ‘The Hedgehog’s Dilemma’ album.
