David Morningstar, known as Dave Van Detta, an academic classical musician and a metal singer, started his career with his sights set on becoming a solo artist and the first metal solo double bassist in the world. His early beginnings span from countless first prizes in classical competitions, multiple national rock festivals and competitions, appearing on national television, up to touring with classical symphonic orchestras across southern Europe.

He is currently trying to strike a record deal for his debut album, which shatters the monotony that is currently reigning in the mainstream metal industry, with some innovative take on combining classical instruments into new metal genres whilst staying true to metal’s roots.
