Hailing out of Fort Wayne, Indiana, metal band Shunned brings the brutality that is along the same lines of Exodus, Disturbed, Dope and Mudvayne if you can imagine it. True force mixed with melody, Jon Herrera goes back and forth between melodic and powerful vocals to harsher screams and low growls that keeps the listener's attention. Brandon Thrasher shows some true talent on guitar with shredding solos that shows you he has a true passion for playing. James Gates and Scott Early deliver plenty of rhythm and talent as well on bass and drums and you can tell that everyone really loves playing together as a band. Everything keeps flowing meticulously and there is not one dull song on this album, I can guarantee you that.

We go straight into it with "Complicate" where Jon brings some of that awesome melodic power with the driving force of guitar and drums behind it that will have you banging your head from start to finish. "1109" is one of my favorite tracks that is very hypnotizing, almost reminds me of Disturbed but there is so much more power and range with the not only the vocals but the music in general. There is such emotion behind it, Shunned doesn't just play music, they bring you into their music and make you a part of it.
"Face It" is nothing but pure...raw anger...I love it. These guys are not fucking around with this one. Scott starts out with some light drumming before Shunned throws you right into the pit and tramples on your skull....then pulls you back up so they can just do it all over again.
"Twist" is another awesome track with a combination of shredding guitar, insane drum and bass work and some killer vocals all coming together to make a perfect ending to this demo, the musicianship displayed here is incredibly tight and shows each individual's talent as well.

"Victims of Circumstance" is their 2003 demo so this gives you just a taste of what Shunned is capable of. They are coming out with a new album this year so you definitely want to keep your eyes out for that as well as checking out their website: www.shunned1.com
