Tenebrae in Perpetuum is a two-man black metal band, with a similar arrangement to Satyricon. Atratus handles the vocals, guitars, and bass. While Vidharr plays the drums. The name, Tenebrae in Perpetuum, is Latin for into everlasting darkness. They come from Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy, Which Is Located In The Tirolian Alps of northwestern Italy. They were recently signed by the label, Cult Collection / ATMF. Although this album was released in 2010, it's a digitally remastered CD of the 2003 LP. It also contains the 4 songs from their Tenebrae in Perpetuum EP, originally released in 2002. They made the most of this re-release package, since a CD can hold 75 minutes of material. This version of the 2 releases was limited to 1000 copies.

The first track, called Oniris Funebi Ritual, means "you honor the funeral ritual" in the Italian language. It rocks with a fast tempo, crude screaming, with lots of Scandinavian styled tremolo guitar picking. This song is driven by melodic bass playing. Al Di La Della Nebbia means "the thing in the fog" in Italian. The guitar plays very melodically in the style of Burzum. There is a slow ambient interlude with guitar playing, similar to Taake, but not nearly as intricate. The Verso Apocalisse means "towards the Apocalypse" in Italian. It has a very nice melody, that can be compared to Kampfar or Lutemkrat . It's mixed with darker interludes that are played at high speed. The song ends with a dark melody that is accentuated with an emphatic bass rhythm. Oscure Presenze means "dark presence" in Italian. It's a slow and dark song, that comes across sounding something like Burzum. It's got a nice tremolo guitar solo midway, that sounds similar to Taake. Anime silenziose means "it enliven the quiet" in Italian. It sounds really dark like some of Darkthrone's earlier songs. It starts with a slow bass rhthym, then picks up the pace, with an interesting tremolo guitar melody. Gradually, it gets more intense with an interlude of grimmer vocals, to convey an even darker atmosphere.

Delirio Nella Cripta is Italian for "delirium in the crypt". This is a very fast and melodic with tremolo picking, that sounds a lot like the style of Svartsyn. Gli Abissa Di Pisorno means the "gulf of Pisorno". Pisorno is a village on the west coast of Italy. The song has a polka style bass rhythm, with Scandinavian-style guitar strumming. It also contains an interlude of intricate tremolo picking, that can be compared to the style of Taake. It ends with grim organ playing, that is fit for an old horror movie. Nero Dominio means "black dominion" in Italian. It's a fast and hateful song, with melodic tremolo picking that sounds a lot like Svartsyn.

These last 4 tracks are a re-release of their self titled 2002 EP, Tenebrae in Perpetuum. Condannato Agli Inferni means "condemned to the hells" in Italian. It rocks at a fast pace and has very intricate guitar leads like Taake, with a forceful approach like Darkthrone, and a folksy interlude that can be compared to Kampfar. The self titled track for the original EP, Tenebrae in Perpetuum, rocks at a medium tempo with a style resembling Darkthrone. It breaks into a slower interlude and then speeds the tempo with crude intensity. La Morte Ha Trionfato Su Piubago is translated into English as meaning "the death triumphed on Piubago". This song takes off with an energetic tempo and is also very melodic. Its got some beautiful tremolo guitar picking, that rivals that from Taake. This is probably the best song on the entire album. La Fine Della Vita means "the end of life", in English. It's a short and creepy song. The guitar playing exhibits a very complex succession of notes, hosted by some very morbid screaming.

Although this album is scheduled to be released in April of 2010, it is a re-release of 2 of their previous albums. It's nothing new, but maybe you can get more music for your money. The quality sounds rough as if it was under produced. I think that the artists wanted it like that. This is an album for fans of Burzum, Pest(Finland), Svartsyn and Sarcofago.
