This Spanish band plays Thrash Metal in its best veins. Good guitar riffs, nice drumming, everything is done very professional. Powerful, sharp and heavy, this music pretends to variety. But I’m not sure if it works.

What is it that makes the album good or bad? Often it doesn’t depend on the quality of the recording and production. There are a lot of albums with poor quality but great success and on the other hand, plenty of records with brilliant production and star guests but… ridiculous. And in either case musicians are pretty sure that everything was done with inspiration. So is it inspiration? Talent? Professionalism? Just an accident?.. This question always remains interesting and important.

“From Nowhere to No One” is the debut of the quite young band. It is the debut as it should be – not very good, raw production, a lot of ideas, plagiarisms among them, inspiration, heartiness, application, and sincerity. It starts with 1-minute industrial-like intro “To Anyone from Anywhere”. Don’t make it louder, the second “Master of Men” strikes and blows the mind out with speed and hardness, sharp guitar solo and great energy overall. Harsh vocals and rhythmic chorus make really good first impression. This music sounds like many other thrash metal bands but it absorbs only good sides of other bands’ talents’. “Antihuman Brigade”, just like the previous song and the next “Dead Seed”, is a bit too long and a bit boring, despite all the breaks and changes, solos and guest musicians. The Seed tries to be different, but after all they show only one side of their talents. And this is cut and dry. The songwriting is quite trivial here, but it’s a solid work that entertains us and makes us headbang a little. (Or maybe not a little on a concert)

“The Yellow Path” starts softly and slowly, but then this 6-minutes effort opens into the many-sided play of several different parts. With this mobility of intensity The Seed achieves the very important goal: drive. That is definitely the significant part of the good metal music, especially in thrash metal. “All the Dreams Are Torn” is made in really classic way. The short “Emptiness” is the very calm atmospheric dark instrumental piece. Track number 8, “Remorse”, again starts with calm tunes and even clean vocals. This over 8 minutes long piece is build on the contrasts – calm and furious music, smooth music and ragged passages, powerful riffs with crashing rhythms and melodies and rocking solo. That’s an epic song, an emphatic success of the band.

The rest 4 songs continue in the veins of the first half of the album. Though, must mention “Murdering Post” with its amazing rhythm pattern. The music in the end of the album is faster, harder, sharper and more interesting than those long pieces in the beginning. It’s pure drive.

The album is not straight and smooth, and that is interesting. Musicians of The Seed are pretty good; their skills can meet only with approval. With “From Nowhere to No One” the band lays a massive foundation for successful career and future evolution. “From Nowhere to No One” will find its path to the hearts of listeners around the world. This is language that doesn’t need translation – language of the good music.
