1. BONES AND DUST

Pronounced their shadows
We tasted our own voices
And the sand was spoken
Softly between this wind and this silence.

Come to us
As what we must
Utter

Through this word
Flares as a mountain
So too is the earth
Deployed into ours.


2. HOPELESS

I was once interested
In the world
Charged as it seems
With flavor and meaning

Now rooted In a tradition of mist
And clouded by all the time
That is by its nature
Determined to dissolve.

Like a mountain of dust
That serves as shadow
To dress its mystery


3. FRAGMENTS OF ILLUSION

I am observing the world
Whose very act of existing
Has made us claim
That it is the only world to exist.

They would rather appear
Unannounced in this world,
To taste a few fragments of illusion

I sit watching the shadows of the sun,
Here below the clouds while I describe
The indistinct quality of being alive
