1. LAMENT

(Instrumental)

2. BY THE LIGHT OF TWO TREES

In the days before the Sun and Moon when the stars lit up the night
With the light of dew drops sparkling to set the sky alight
The dew which rolled from silver leaves of the silver tree
Into Elbereth's snow white hands, Elentari
Telperion
Telperion

When the days were lit by shining light, a light of purest gold
From golden leaves on golden boughs, for all to behold
Standing high on the Summer Mound before the western walls
Of the proud city of many bells, and the mighty Valar's halls
Laurelin
Laureiln

Awaken my children under the starlight
Awaken my children under the moonlight
Watch the stars sail by
Sailing westards
Walk along the shores
Journey westwards

Walk along the shores of Helcar
Wander through the forests of the northern lands
Journey westwards over the mountains
And by the light of two trees
Sail to Valinor

3. FIMBULVETR

The wintry Earth enshrouded in a shield of broken leaves
As barren trees weep their last tears, and branches break and fall
The Sun which lies so distantly upon the bleak horizon
And whistling winds bring snow and hail, like no man can recall
The mountains offer no defense from blizzards so malevolant
This vehemence and fury of the last great squall
Winter spirits hold your will with an icy grip
As they pull you to your dying battle under thrall

Ride, along the twisting broken trail
With sword in hand, you'll struggle forth through storm
Ride, through deepest snow and highest peaks
Spears of ice will deal the final blow
Sound the horns, grind your sword blade
This Fimbulwinter, will pave the way for war

An arrow flies through falling snow and hits its frosty mark
The fallen warrior grips his wound, and stumbles to his knees
His blood which flows into the snow will chill and run as ice
His dying shout is borne away upon a breeze
No pyre built to mark his passing, no fire set nor lit no flame
No logs are felled for funeral rites, no use for dying trees
This maddened frenzy tears its way through villages and towns
As battles break out all around and lifeblood starts to freeze

Winter
The frozen moon looks down on us in shame
Winter
The land of mist is rising

4. MUSPELHEIM

Ride through the heavens
Before flames of burning fire
Hold your sword held up high
As it shines brighter than the sun
Within the clash of heavens
We will ride through fire and ice
This storm, the sons of Muspel
We'll burn the planets and the stars

Swim your horses across the great River
Ride to Midgard, ride to ruin
Charge your horses across the great divide
From Muspelheim, from Muspelheim to ruin

Shine in the darkness
The great bridge falls into rubble
Flames surround our warlord
And the sky splits in two
We hear the warning horn call
As the gods enter the fray
The fear, as the Great Tree shakes
And the battle must begin

Swim your horses across the great River
Ride to Midgard, ride to ruin
Charge your horses across the great divide
From Muspelheim, from Muspelheim to ruin

5. LET DEATH BE OUR PRIDE

A rain of arrows, falls from the sky
Like lightning, strikes the armour
The thunder of the clashing shields
And the deafening roars of the brave
The shieldwall meets like wave on cliff
And the chosen fall like rocks to the sea
The spears clash and shortswords ring
On shields held firm for our brothers-in-arms

A terrible battle, with death on our side
A terrible battle, let death be our pride

Wound-giving Valkyries down from the sky
Surrounded by ravens, great horses they ride
As arrows fly by over helmets and swords
The maidens of Valhall, their fate to decide
That those who died bravely, with honour and pride
Be given their death, cast their shield aside
And join the Einherjer in their joyful tide
Though warriors have fallen, their death is their pride

The men who lie in blood and dirt
Now lie beside their brothers
For when the sun sets they'll return to the halls
And drink to battle and the day that they died
The men who lie with spears in their hearts
Now ride again with the men they have slain
As they fade away, with swords in their hands
They will open their eyes to the gods of old

A beautiful battle, with death on our side
A beautiful battle, let death be our pride

Wound-giving Valkyries down from the sky
Surrounded by ravens, great horses they ride
As arrows fly by over helmets and swords
The maidens of Valhall, their fate to decide
That those who died bravely, with honour and pride
Be given their death, cast their shield aside
And join the Einherjer in their joyful tide
Though warriors have fallen, their death is their pride
