1. COLD SWEAT

Standing still as the wind carries the leaves
Songs of the earth cause the trees to sway
The Sun sets on another day

Shutting down, surrounded by sounds unfamiliar
Falling to the ground
In that moment I decide to stay

In confusion I panic
The world slips through my fingers and shatters at my feet
I am meant to bear this weight
The air escapes my lungs, my words stay buried deep

At times it all seems daunting knowing nothing’s left
Yet, there’s a peace I find
In finally losing all control
To become a product of an abandoned world

It drags me under as I surrender

Oh, the feeling of life again
Flowing through my veins
It knows no end

All of this time
I feared I’d go unheard
Ignoring the safety within the unknown

Our flaws dictate everything we are
Embracing what lies beneath uncovers our true form
Within each soul our demons lie in wait
Fighting an eternity to finally escape
