1. MUJINA : SADNESS

Before the era of street lamps, this neighborhood
Was very lonesome after dark; belated pedestrians
Would go miles out of their way, rather than mount,
The Kii-no-kuni-zaka, alone after sunset.
All because of a Mujina that used to walk there."
In the deep moat, there is a solitary presence
Every night she cries, cold tears that fall from inexistent Eyes.
An old man goes through,and he beholds her.
She winces, her shoulders are trembling. Perhaps she wants To jump?
Faint and pretty figure, delicate as a lotus flower.
O-Jochu! Don't cry, sweet maiden! If I could help you, I Would be happy!
I put my sincerity at your feet!
And she continues, the long sleeves cover her face.
O-jochu! Please listen! I want to help you! Stop, only for A moment: tell me what I could do!
He puts his hand on her shoulder, but the smooth kimono's Sleeve moves.
And she shows the face she has not.
The old man runs away, leaving her weeping.
She turns to the dark moat, she really desires to let Herself go,
To lose her thin body in the depth.
The loneliness grips her, it clenches her wrists
It drags her on the edge of madness, towards a black Raving.
Behold this young maiden, blinded by madness and fear
Fear, that bitter dimension
I know what it means, when she touches your skin
With her black, sharpened fangs.
