1. NOT READY TO DIE
Last one still breathing,
Twenty hearts but only one still beating,
A cemetery with no one grieving,
No sleep, the souls never leaving,
Is anybody really safe?
Or do we all go out the same way?
In the hell he made,
Chance stares into his grave,
Screaming,
"I'm not ready to die,
But in my reflection I see my demise,
Over and over, I see myself losing my life,
But I'm not ready to die".
2. SILVER GLASS
Look away, avert your eyes,
All you see is your demise,
All you see is your demons,
Whispering their prophecies,
Broken down and on my knees,
I can see enemies,
Ghosts, or just memories,
Hopeless Grief, nobody's sleeping
It's in my head,
It's only in my head,
Close your eyes, avert your gaze,
The glass will show you your decay,
Close your eyes, turn away,
Make it through another day,
Visions of decay,
Premonitions of grey
Peer into the glass,
Who do I see? (Those eyes staring right through me, piercing deep)
I tell myself it's in my head,
My reflections says,
I'll be better off dead,
But I can't escape the image of the stillness in my eyes,
The pops, the echoes of the cries,
Reverberating through my spine, there's
No escape in mind, I'm running out of time,
Maybe if I close my eyes it all just goes away,
Maybe if I close my eyes I'll stop the visions of decay,
Tried to close my eyes to no avail,
Should I rip them from my head?
Can we run from fate or am I better dead?
Visions of decay,
Premonitions of grey
Peer into the glass,
Who do I see? (Those eyes staring right through me, piercing deep)
I tell myself it's in my head,
My reflections says,
I'll be better off dead,
Head and heart are racing as I'm pacing on the spot,
Never saw a body but I'm certain that I heard it drop,
What the silver glass had screened was something from a movie reel,
But the board's just too askew,
What's the Chance that it was real?
3. THE COLOUR IN YOUR EYES:
I watched,
I lost the rage,
A whisper sinks in,
Eyes adjust, a glimpse of sin, the blade pierces your skin,
Can I free myself from what once was?
Or will I fade deep into the void?
A final whisper as it sank in,
“Did it have to be him?”
Watching through another’s eyes,
I crept back home,
Tried to seek love,
Only to feel so alone,
Alone, solace graced a conversation,
Oh, screamed demons in his own reflection,
“Please don’t leave me here”
Dark spaces, empty voids,
In this cold night air I hear your voice,
As I watched the life leave your eyes,
I lost the rage I felt inside,
Whispers and the cries of the others left to die inside the body pile,
And I can't find or recognise the colour in your eyes,
An empty vacant gaze, my love,
And all I see is blood,
Dark spaces, empty voids,
In this cold night air I hear your voice,
As I watched the life leave your eyes,
I lost the rage I felt inside,
I crept back home,
Tried to seek love,
Only to feel so alone,
I watched,
I lost the rage,
The whispers and the cries,
The nothing that I felt inside,
And I can't find or recognise the colour in your eyes,
When I lost the rage I felt inside.
4. 217
Eyes rolled back and the cold sets in,
Looking back at the life flashed before him,
The memories like pictures, fading,
Burning, nothing left worth saving,
Born and died a cycle,
The lives of those who suffered,
Phantoms pass from door to door,
With not a sound upon the floor,
I don’t feel safe anymore,
(Am I just another ghost?)
Sleepless souls,
Impressions on the air,
Wailing walls,
A home beyond repair,
Nothing underground,
Beneath these flowers,
Now I know there's no way out,
The story's the same,
No mourning, no grave,
No casket, no name,
No funeral once your dead and gone,
Just a space where you lay,
And all the others went out the same,
In their shame, they decay,
Why do the dead have to bear the weight?
Sleepless souls,
Impressions on the air,
Wailing walls,
A home beyond repair,
Nothing underground,
Beneath these flowers,
Now I know there's no way out
Eyes rolled back and the cold sets in,
Looking back at the life flashed before him,
The memories like pictures, fading,
Burning, nothing left worth saving,
That's all, the last thing he sees
Using his last breath to scream,
And it's is fading,
Nothing left worth saving,
Nothingness, nothing is ever worth saving.
Check the body count,
217,
East Mercer,
No mercy.
5. NO SLEEP
Bloody black teeth
Always asking why me?
It's the last thing
Acting politely,
No more watching from the cover of the black screen,
Just filled his page,
Chance is full of rage,
Said the name and he won't live to see another day,
He won't find peace beneath thin wooden floors,
When sleeping at six feet is what we long for,
No one,
No one will grieve,
This home is a cemetery,
With their blood on my hands,
I'll show no mercy
As if the violence means anything,
I only see the red running down my hands,
"Could this be the end?",
"Not if you just follow the fu*king plan",
It's unlikely,
They might surprise me,
It's either them or me,
No more asking nicely,
Will you find your peace? (No),
You won't find fu*king peace,
Trying to find last words to speak,
I'll help you spit out your teeth,
No one,
No one will grieve,
The home is a cemetery,
And he filled the walls with bodies decomposing,
It's the last thing,
That he asked me,
No more questions when you put him in the backseat,
Bloody black teeth,
Says they last piece,
Said the name and now there's no more treading lightly,
It's always "why me?" from they high seat
But answer's always "you deserved it if you ask me".
6. DEAD END
"For the last time", drop the kit to the floor,
Hit the last line, scramble in the car door,
"Just a past life, no more",
Say goodbye to any Chance you knew before,
Keep the speed low, don't want the 5-0,
Backstreets, stay driving with the lights off,
Fair fight, they ain't leaving with they life though,
For him, D's just another fuckin John Doe,
For the fake names signed on the clipboard,
For the base heads passing out on floors,
For the locks they don't check on their doors,
For the nights awake for thinking nothing but horror,
Cruising in silence, the violence,
Relentless and endless, it play on his mind,
No matter how fast that he driving, no hiding,
When every stranger could be your demise, so,
"For a last time, that's all"
Roll out with the foot to the floor,
Almost feel just as good as it did before,
Tell himself that it's "just one more",
No it's not the last time.
7. REMEMBER EAST MERCER
Before it's too late,
Turn back now death can wait,
The time span around his mind,
As he saw his bitter fate,
Walk up,
Take notes about the mud covering the stones,
The Crooked boards lit by the dim porch light,
Open door swings when the wind hits right,
Could have been something that you seen King write,
Can't shake it,
Feeling like a bad dream,
Remember East Mercer 217,
Is it really haunted?
Popped the lock on his hip when he walked in,
While its horror on the outside,
Its the murder on the inside,
And the time span on his mind when the hollering stopped,
The shots,
The screams echoed the streets,
The copper on the air reaked,
No he can’t believe what his eyes are seeing, oh,
(He thought that he was dreaming,
The holes within the floor,
The nightmares laid beneath them,
Screaming as they crawl,
Silver statue,
A silhouette,
A silver glass standing there,
Takes a look at his fate,
He wonders what it all meant,
Oh, was he a dead man?
Hopeless, just in over his head man,
Oh, but he hadn't seen a case yet,
Just a kid,
Just a badge with no accomplishment,
Al was a brave man,
Never missed a day, man,
Took a look at his fate, wonder what it all meant,
Was it ever really meant to be?
Or was it just for fucking nothing?
No exit for Reaper,
The floorboards cry beneath him,
No matter what your plans there is no second Chance,
So was it all for nothing?
I told myself it's in my head,
My reflection says I’d be better off dead,
Silver statue,
A silhouette,
A silver glass standing there,
Takes a look at his fate,
He wonders what it all mean, been
He thought he dreamt the holes in the floor,
The nightmares down beneath them,
He wonders if it was meant to be,
Or was it all for nothing?
Nothing's left to Chance,
Watching death await,
No matter what your plans,
The glass will show your fate,
A house that never sleeps,
He still hears them weep,
"Is there Hope in Grief?",
But he already knows,
Nothing is safe.
8. LET ME DIE
With each step closer he could feel it,
Head rush, blood lust, just to revisit,
The return, the place where he mourned,
The place where he learned, the place where he turned (to murder),
Lost soul just looking through the mirror,
How long had it been?
He can't escape the memories of what he'd seen,
Of what he might have been,
Was there still ghosts in these halls?
He doesn't care, he just needs to be sure,
I mean, it's a hard thing to predict;
The time, the place, the reasons you meet death,
Count the times you've escaped from Reaper,
Cold stare, hand out to greet you,
Chance Staring at their graves,
Thinking how they all went out the same way;
Screaming,
Now, his last friend in wait,
Looking glass who showed him his fate,
Door swings, a man in the way,
Arch blade in hand and eyes full of hate,
Clock stops, eyes meet with Reaper,
Heart drops, floors sink beneath him,
No Hope, he accepts defeat,
"Now it's time to see the things you could have been",
Lifetime in a second, dilation,
Afterlife all he want, destination,
Death tell him "no rest for the wicked,
"Hell is the people and the demons are the sick",
Realise his fate, grieving,
No rest for his soul, no sleeping,
Blade coming for his head, heaving,
And Chance went out the same way, screaming;
"I can't fucking count the times I've traded other's lives to keep you satisfied, but,
There's no escape from demise,
Death don't accept any sacrifices,
Another voice wailing down the halls,
Another ghost crying in the floors,
With his last breath he cries,
"Why won't you let me die?
Last one still breathing,
Twenty hearts but only one still beating,
A cemetery with no one grieving,
