On a dark night
waves caressed the white sand
on the Shetlands
long ago

Seal skins

from the mermaids
who had taken them off

The streets were called her home

Her bread was nearly gone

’twas made of gold and warmth
One fateful day, she needed to depart

And the stars were bright

Guiding lights above
