Lyrics

1. 'NEATH A SOLITARY PINE

Oh, convivial arboretum
Hide me ‘neath an ocean of lilies
Obscure from hateful eyes my existence
Encase me in a bed of petals, magenta and heliotrope

Oh, gentlest blossoms, welcome me as your own
Homeward, toward the elder flowers I leap
Purest amaranth, how long I have waited to greet you
How long, to fly beside the morning dew

Among the petrichor, I’ll reside
With dryads, I’ll dine
Forgetting the pain and the lies
Finally at peace, ‘neath a solitary pine

Kindest oaken elder, mend my shattered soul
Spirits of the Arbor, bless me with fruits of the earth
Aromas dance around me, an olfactory performance
Berries greet me with sweetness; bid me farewell with a zesty tang

Forgetting the pain and the lies
Finally at peace, ‘neath a solitary pine

2. TO FLY THROUGH FROSTBITTEN WINDS

Too long have my wings been broken
For centuries my flight has been stolen
The path to freedom hidden
My journey home forbidden

To my brothers beyond the clouds
I promise we’ll return to days of yore
Reunited in a lily-white sky
A floating heavenly castle

They will tether us to cursed ground no more
We shall not suckle on their poisoned milk
Save our children from their greedy whips
In an untouchable skyborne city

To fly through frostbitten winds
To become one with my kin
To live among snow and rain
To be free from Earth’s pain

3. LAMENTATION FOR A WILTING BLOSSOM

Born from sacred empyrean rays
Blessed by a springtime deluge
Under starlight, amaranthine
A violet gem, in silent beauty

A drop of dew at dawn, a springtime blossom
Sunlight singing in harmony, with the waterfall’s cadence
A choir of splendour, perfect unity
A threnody for the departed petals

The furtive decay hath come this night
Under starlight, a lonely floral soldier stands tall

But the abyss-song calls long and sweet
Under moonlight, a cool wind steals away the last arboreal breath

Recall not bowed, resigned faces
Nor browned stems and withered anther
Forget not the scent of joy
And the inspiring amethyst buds within

Amaranth in title only, alas
Wither, sweetest calyx
At dawn, your sisters shall weep
And noiselessly croon your lilac legacy

4. DRIFTING THROUGH THE AURORAE

I float in a purple sky
On lucid wings, I soar
I carry their hope
Toward the distant mountaintop

An impossibly beautiful world
Ecstatic bliss and triumph
Stars illuminate my path
As I drift in perfect peace

An unparalleled sensation
These colours not meant for human eyes
Nor these wings to grow
Alas, I glide toward home

On brave wings, I fly
With courage, to our friend, the mountain
A graceful descent and thus we are home
I, saviour, enlightened nirvana-bringer

To the skies, I gaze
As he morphs to a tender yellow
A colour of warmth
Yet paradise I must farewell

5. MOUNTAINSIDE, WHERE TEMPESTS HOWL

I stand alone
I gaze toward the endless forests
Wind batters my face
Oblivious, I remain

I found this place
Where the flowers still bloom
Where the breeze still sings
Where the birds still soar

Where the rain still weeps
Where the trees still cry

6. RAIN

Rain
Howling flood
Frostbitten torrent
Mourning deluge

Fruit for the soil
Tears of the heavens
Cloak for the trees
Mask for a despairing face

Brother of thunder
You bring the storm
I wish to fly among clouds
In blissful solitude

To dwell in a downpour
And deliver petrichor
To save forgotten fields
And bless lonely petals

7. WEEPING MOON

(Instrumental)

8. FAREWELL TO THE STARS

And so the blackness begins
I shall not see the light again
In a lover’s embrace, I devote myself to the abyss
The endless pit that welcomes me home

Oh...

And I wave a wistful farewell to the stars
The stars, my only companions on this dead earth
Betrayed with life, and thus I exact revenge
And so the light ends.

Oh...

And so the light ends.

And so the light ends.

And so the light ends.
