1. TREADING THE DOLDRUMS

I was picking up speed
The wind to my back
Riding the breeze
Then Satan attacked

My prayers felt empty
I felt all alone
I cried to my God
I thought that no one was home

Alone in the world
I felt overwhelmed
Everyone told me
I just had to trust and believe

I lifted my hands
I fell on my face
I still felt no miracle
No God in this place

God is not a feeling
That we summon while in trouble
He is so alive
This is why we all can stumble

I stayed on the floor
I kept my hands held high
He turned me around
Then filled me inside

When you lost momentum
And your heart feels empty

2. SURRENDER OF FLESH

The earth is the Lord's and everything in it
Our spirits, our bodies, and all who live on it
Created from dust, filled with his life
A part of us all, He keeps us from sin

Born pure in this world, our hearts close to God
Though start to stray as our youths turn to aged
Brought up in sin as we grow on this earth
Clouded, cold, and lost, where have I gone

Emerged deep in the darkness, forgetting who we are
Memories are rotting, I'm fading more and more
Something in life is missing, I thought I had it all
Jesus come and save me, before my final fall

Demons retreat as they hear of His name
Devoid of love, in His light they all shriek
Falling at His feet they plead to be freed

I thought that Satan was stronger, in God's presence evil is weak
My soul was chained in evil, through Jesus, I am set free
Fleshly hungers fading, reborn as I pray
Life surrendered daily, to the world I fade away

3. PAST OF DECEPTION

With my weapon of truth
I face the enemy
A battle rages inside my mind

A fear of loss
A weight upon my heart
He stands before me with death in his eyes

He calls my name
I'll tear you in two
Remember your past
I'm still with you

I know your weakness
I lust on your pain
I burn to see you fall
Your soul I will claim

Torment - entombed in darkness and severed from light
Exhumed - my past before my eyes, so evil, so cruel
Temptation - my strength is fading, will I do what is right
Surrender - I lose control, I feel like I have died

As I'm injected
I fall to the ground
His demons laughing
I lift my hands out to God

My faith has wavered
Forgive me my Lord
Save me from my pain
My spirit is torn

Ripping through my blackened heart
My strength is building, demons die
Exposing faces of my past, forgiveness, love, the faces burn

Lifted in this holy fire
Upon His rock I call His name
Jesus casts them back to hell
My son, my love, your life I save

My faith has wavered
Forgive me my Lord
Save me from my pain
My spirit is torn
