3. COMPANION

Time has told a story.
Words carved in so deep they'll never fade.
Weather will never wash away these memories.
This friendship will last the test of time.
There are mountains we've walked upon.
Though our footprints have faded,

We've battled immortal beings.
We made them beg for death.
We have prevailed over everything.
I'll never stray too far from what I know,

The grass below me feels softer than ever.

4. PROTECTOR

It's hard to think that not so long ago I was a child.
It seems such a thing of the past.
Somewhere along the line I gave up wishing I could fly.
For I'd found someone who soared.
Go, run away you coward.
What sort of beast runs from a man - you.
Your time is near, and how you survive is now in your hands.
I watched in awe as it clawed at her wings in half the time it took to cry for help.
Protector, protect her.
Heavenly white feathers fatally damaged and spattered in deep red.
We will surely reach the heavens for we've already been to hell,
And here we stand.
We will wait for our chance.
One day we will take to the skies again,
But until then, we will mend our wings and learn to fly again.
The choice is yours but this is mine

5. THE LAST DEFENDER

This is war, and I'm being torn apart as walls
That we've worked so hard to break are built back up.
Where do I even start, are there even words that
I could write to tell you how I feel?
Frail words penned on paper amount to nothing more than that.
A failed attempt at expressing my gratitude.
Wanting to hold on to more than just one night,
And hoping that my words impact just one life.
This is what keeps us pressing on.
Is this still our home,
Where my words can always be heard and there is no need for me to scream

6. LOST TO TIME

To the fore.
Strike iron while it's hot.
I won't let this shape me anymore, no.
Warmth and candor fill me once again.
Even so, the deceitful path takes devotion.
Assurance is on my side.
I walk fortified.
Who's to say we're moving in the right direction.
We have surely taken steps forward,
But it seems our strides have turned to stumbles.
Who is to say we are moving in the right direction?
For every answer I find,
Three more questions arise.
Three more people I leave behind.
Let me find my steady foot, and when a wall stands in my path
I will not give it sight of my back.
These destructions are my enemies.
They will suffer, you will suffer.
Crumbling under my will.
I've been thrown back.
Seeing myself detached.

It will take more than efforts to turn this distance into progress.

7. THE END TO THE EPIC

As those days beat down on me I truly thought I was fearless,
And now that I realize I'm growing up.
I'm terrified.
Who has the upper hand, I tell myself again.
We are more than just creations.
We taught ourselves to sing so beautifully.
This song is a cry for help.
Is there anyone out there who feels the same way, am I all alone?
How foolish I know the feeling of being alone
And this is not it, for this is acceptable with time.
What have I made of myself and though it seems so long ago.
I want to be a kid again.
This is the action of growing up, growing older, growing old.
What good is man give me the heart of a child again.
Prove yourself.
I am relentless in all my actions.
I've found that I am growing tired of fighting these battles.
I've lost them all.
I will surely concede,
I am not afraid.


8. GATHER THE FORCES

What I once thought of as paradise,
Has become my own living hell.
I drug myself to these waters in hopes of escaping this evil that plagues me.
The choice is simple.
I either sink or swim.
A desire that's pure.
A hope that's true,
And strength to carry on this fight.


9. MAPPING THE YEARS

Storms and devastation.
Let's leave again.
Pull up anchor.
Let the winds help us regain our momentum.
Let's seize the day.
We will not flee in sight of merciless foes.
We have been deceived again by these calm waters luring us into treachery.
Row onward to Atlantis.
In irons we will see this voyage through.
May we set our hearts to unity,
And our hopes in this vessel
We all miss our mothers dearly,
But everyone knew,
One day we'd learn to sail.
And so we sail.
I've lost hope that we may find a calm.
I'll ride out the strongest of storms with you by my side.
There is no hope for reconciliation.

Trying to prolong my own demise.

10. THE QUEST

Every stride defines another moment
