Once upon a time
Our future was their yesteryear,
A fateful winterchime
Foretold
A dolorous destiny.

Sinful shades of mellow scarlet lips
Once seduced to an ineffable crime.
Her created alabaster skin
Cracks all cogwheels of time.

Pallid spectres dancing through my mind
Once again he took her tender hand.
The roundabout of foolishness tumbled around
A conceived Elysium that could not stand.

Eyes as green as poisoned moss
Once promised treason in disguise.
Now her masquerade is lost
And her visage did paralyze.

Her anathema dines with avarice

And her fallen beauty was seen no more.

But sometimes in a lonely hour
I hear that forlorn phantom.
