Hear the tale of the old man hiding
In disguise, dressed up as a beggar
He passed by the forest folk that lived there at that time

No one knows his own real nature
He belongs to the bright, celestial home
And in search for food he roames around

Look at the sky and see the Moon
Feel the magic through the gloom
And your eyes will clearly see the bright glowing silver shape
Of the big jade rabbit who lives there
A sign carved in stone for all to see
A reminder for eternity
Of the sweetest sacrifice, the tell behind this tune

Fruit and meat, the fox lights the flames just
To warm him, they offer a shelter and a meal
Then gather around him to lend a hand

"I can collect only some grass, it's not enough
To give you the strength and to survive"
So the rabbit offers himself in sacrifice
