Majestica : A Christmas Carol

Teksty
1. A CHRISTMAS CAROL
(Instrumental)
2. A CHRISTMAS STORY
[Scrooge:]
Fools around me, the city's going under
Going under
Stealing, begging, poverty and plunder
Poverty and plunder
All these folks they're nothing but a bother
All of town is
Loud, disturbing, singing for each other
I can't stand this
Time of Christmas joy and celebration
Leave me be
[Bob Cratchit:] Sir, I wouldn't mind some heat
[Scrooge:] Your office's more than warm enough
[Bob Cratchit:] I could buy more coal just down the street
[Scrooge:] And spend more money, than we need? No, thanks!
They think my intentions are joyful and triumphant
Wealth and fortune has given me my comfort
I've paid the price of my success with pride and dignity
[Businessman:]
Would you help the people at the workhouse
They have no one to cherish
Poor, young children and Christmas 'round the corner
They might perish
[Scrooge:]
You come here, thinking "I am your salvation"
'Cause they're dying
Then let them, that would decrease the population
I'm not lying
Now leave me, go in peace and have yourself a
Good... Merry Christmas... day
[Bob Cratchit:] You know tomorrow's Christmas day
[Scrooge:] A working day like always
[Bob Cratchit:] Maybe if I came in late?
[Scrooge:] Then expect no payment for that day!
They think my intentions are joyful and triumphant
Wealth and fortune has given me my comfort
I've had enough of welfare and of Christmas cheering
He fell to his knees
And passed away that dark, black Christmas
Jacob Marley
Oh my friend and so you're gone
He's gone, which means the profit's mine
Only mine since that Christmas eve
Dear Bob Cratchit needs a day
To celebrate this season
I wish this holiday would go away
For many, many reasons
[Townspeople:]
Christmas is faithful, joyful and triumphant
Bringing to others happiness and comfort
[Scrooge:]
They think Christmas is faithful, joyful and triumphant
Bringing to others happiness and comfort
Bah, humbug to you all now let me go in peace alone
3. GLORY OF CHRISTMAS
Singing loud and disturbing, they look so proud
Is it all they have learned? Singing "Joy to the world"
I will not be part of your crowd
My nephew Fred, poor man has been mislead
Such a fool that believes I will join Christmas eve
But I would rather be dead
I remember a time
When we used to sit silent inside
You and I, on this very night before you died
How a delight it was
Where I go, every row
See the glory of our Christmas time
There is no meaning of joy
It's a magic London night
All my glory is gold
That's enough to keep one satisfied
I'm a story of old
And tonight won't be my last, you'll see
Long time ago I was young, living on the row
I would dance, I would drink, singing songs and I think
I got kissed under one mistletoe
But now it's gone and I know I was so wrong
Putting joy before my own success
Now see what I've become
I still remember a time
When we used to sit silent inside
You and I, Jacob Marley on this very night you died
Now seven years ago
Where I go, every row
See the glory of our Christmas time
There is no meaning of joy
It's a magic London night
All my glory is gold
That's enough to keep one satisfied
I'm a story of old
And tonight won't be my last, you'll see
Hear the bells of Christmas celebration out in the night
Here we stand with open arms to celebrate the light
One man can not understand the joy of Christmas day
Now we take heed and stay away from him
Where he'll go, every row
See the glory of our Christmas time
Where he'll go, every row
It's a magic London night
Where I go, every row
See the glory of our Christmas time
There is no meaning of joy
It's a magic London night
All my glory is gold
That's enough to keep one satisfied
I'm a story of old
And tonight won't be my last
Where he'll go, every row
I see the humbug of their Christmas time
There is so much meaning of joy
It's a tragic London night
All his glory is gold
Not enough to keep me satisfied
He's a story of old
And tonight he'll meet his destiny
4. GHOST OF MARLEY
[Marley:]
Don't ask me who I am but who I was
I'm not the man I used to be
In life I was your partner by your side
The greed we share has brought me here
[Scrooge:]
Spirit please, leave me be, I don't know you can be
Tell me more, say your name. Is it...?
Jacob Marley
No!
I know you have been dead for seven years
[Marley:]
Tell me why you doubt your senses
[Scrooge:]
None of this is real, it can not be
[Marley:]
Now you're running out of chances
[Scrooge:]
Spirit tell me more, or leave me be
[Marley:]
These chains were forged in life by our
Act of greed, can't you see, yours will come
Now's your last chance for redemption
[Scrooge:]
Marley, my dear friend let me go in peace
[Scrooge:]
I have been your friend for all your time
I beg of you, speak comfort to me
I see your chain and realized that I
May not await a kinder fate
[Marley:]
Your future's a horror story written by your crime
That you will have to pay for the rest of your time
[Scrooge:]
Leave me alone, this can not happen now
[Marley:]
Tell me why you doubt your senses
[Scrooge:]
None of this is real, it can not be
[Marley:]
Now you're running out of chances
[Scrooge:]
Spirit tell me more, or leave me be
[Marley:]
These chains were forged in life by our
Act of greed, can't you see, yours will come
Now's your last chance for redemption
[Scrooge:]
Marley, my dear friend let me go in peace
[Marley:]
You will be haunted by 3 spirits
Expect the 1st to arrive at Midnight
The 2nd on the night after that
And the last spirit will arrive
On the 3rd night
[Marley:]
Tell me why you doubt your senses
[Scrooge:]
My mind can play me tricks, so could anyones
[Marley:]
Now tonight you have 3 chances
[Scrooge:]
Why can't all the spirits come at once?
[Marley:]
Your chain is forged in life by your
Act of greed, can't you see, yours will come
Now's your last chance for redemption
[Scrooge:]
I have heared your warning, no go in peace!
5. GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PAST
Let's go back to where it started
Where my life was filled with peace
Though alone, my dad cold hearted
My sister Fan, made my darkness cease
Was left at school every Christmas evening
Then one day I found new meaning
When they would invite me home
Joyful, at ease - with family
With the news that Fanny died
I knew from this moment that I'm all alone
(He thinks his alone when there's all around him others)
(That his lonely heart can't see, it's filled with greed)
Come and take my robe
We will fly away
Come with your robe, we fly away
To a time of jolly and gay
With the Ghost of Christmas Past
Here to help me find my way
Come with your robe, we fly away
To a time of jolly and gay
With the Ghost of Christmas Past
Here to help me find my way
On towards my glory days
Of working for a jolly man
Fezziwig, that kook, how he made us laugh and
Took us in with open arms
Dance 'til morning, singing, cheering
Christmas time was always steering
To a hope of better times
I still can recall that joyfull night
When I met my love, my Belle
Wish for the rest of my time
That we could have made a life together
Come and take my robe
We will fly away
Come with your robe, we fly away
To a time of jolly and gay
With the Ghost of Christmas Past
Here to help me find my way
Come with your robe, we fly away
To a time of jolly and gay
With the Ghost of Christmas Past
Here to help me find my way
The hour strikes, it's getting darker
Then I see a lonely man
Waiting for his true love Belle
Knowing that she won't show up
She was my true love, I knew
But she had found herself someone new
Consumed by greed, his lust for wealth
Lost in his world, a tragic spell
Now I know what could have been
Should I regret that painfull sin?
How I chose my own success
Before the only woman I have ever loved liked this
Come and take my robe
We will fly away
Come with your robe, we fly away
To a time of jolly and gay
With the help of the Ghost of the Christmas Past
To show me on my way
Come with your robe, we fly away
To a time of jolly and gay
With the Ghost of Christmas Past
Here to help me find my way
6. THE JOY OF CHRISTMAS
[Bob Cratchit:]
Another night of working late for this cold, heartless man
They say his heart is filled with loneliness and filled with hate
All this time I wondered how he could have been if
Someone knew just what he need, and took away his act of greed
Of all these years I've spent of working for this stubborn man
I realized that wealth and fortune can't bring you all
I can imagine how his life now could have been if
Someone took his hand and said "I'll be your friend"
If he only
Knew the feeling
Of coming home to those
That you are holding close
This day is so much more
Than being all alone
I wish the joy of Christmas
I wish the joy would come to you
Here I am with my loving family
They make me feel like I'm the richest man so constantly
I can't imagine how my life now would have been
If no one had ever taken my hand and said "forever I'm your friend"
If he only
Knew the feeling
Of coming home to those
That you are holding close
This day is so much more
Than being all alone
I wish the joy of Christmas
Would find its way to you
See now that man, I know he can change to a different person
Where you'll find love, that's where you'll find Christmas - inside your heart
It's time to now make amends, to tear down the fence and go out into the world
And see all the joy that Christmas can bring
I wish he'd only
Had known the feeling
Of having someone close
Not being all alone
If he only
Knew the feeling
Of coming home to those
That you are holding close
This day is so much more
Than being all alone
I wish the joy of Christmas
I wish the joy would come to you
If he only
Knew the feeling
Of coming home to those
That you are holding close
This day is so much more
Than being all alone
I wish the joy of Christmas
I wish the joy would come to you
This day is so much more
Than being all alone
I wish the joy of Christmas
Would find its way back to you
7. GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PRESENT
[Spirit:]
You've never seen the likes of me before
I've been in this realm for many years
Now I am here to show a whole lot more
Of the family you have left in tears
[Scrooge:]
I see them now
That's the man I did allow
To go home for Christmas day
But only for one day!
[Spirit:]
Can you imagine for the work he does
That he earned a shilling more or two 'cause
[Spirit:]
These are reflections of what you've said and done
Can you see it in your heart to help them on this
First day of Christmas, it's only just begun
But not for all
[Scrooge:]
There's joy in this world for Tiny Tim
He seems to be stronger each day
[Scrooge:]
Oh, spirit tell how can this one man now
Provide for so many? That buffoon...
[Spirit:]
By choosing his salary and way of life
It's not certain they'll all be here soon
[Scrooge:]
That tiny one, will he make it?
His life has just begun
[Spirit:]
I see an empty chair and a crutch against the wall
Very gently preserved
[Scrooge:]
Oh, how I wish in another way it was
When I see my friend in peril here 'cause
[Scrooge:]
These are reflections of what I've said and done
I can see it in my heart to help them on their
Second day of Christmas, it's only just begun
But not for all
[Spirit:]
There's hope in this world for Tiny Tim
He could be stronger each day
"Come, Scrooge, let's visit your nephew Fred!"
[Townspeople:]
- Is it a dog?
- No
- A Horse?
- Nope
- Lives in London?
- Yes!
- Is it an ass?
- Yes and no
- Oh, wait! I know! It's your uncle Scrooge!
- Hahaha...
[Scrooge:]
These are reflections of what I've said and done
I will see it in my heart to help them on this
Third day of Christmas, it's only just begun
But not for all
[Spirit:]
There's hope in this world, even hope for you
[Scrooge:]
Tim will be stronger each day
I will be there
8. THIS CHRISTMAS
Two of three have come my way
The last one with delay
Non of this is real today it's...
(Maybe a dream, a lucid dream, you have to stay)
Stay with me, don't go away
Don't leave me here alone
Spirit, come back and show me all
The joy in this world
I see and I try to understand it all now
How I've gone from kind to cruel
Clocks running out and there's one more trial
For me and the time is now
This Christmas, this Christmas
The Ghost are dancing and cheering
Your misdeeds, your misdeeds
Are paying off can't you see
It's Christmas time, it's here for you
It's Christmas time
I know I do deserve to see
Where all my actions lead
If I don't fix these cruel misdeeds
I don't think it's too late
(Now it's to late, see Marley's fate, you're heading straight)
Straight towards the bitter end
But now it's up to you
Face your demons, face forthcoming
Chains on your neck
I see and I try to understand it all now
How I've gone from kind to cruel
Clocks running out now there's one more trial
But why, spirit leave me down this aisle?
This Christmas, this Christmas
The Ghost are dancing and cheering
Your misdeeds, your misdeeds
Are paying off can't you see
It's Christmas time, it's here for you
Christmas spirits everywhere
Your redemption's coming near
'Cause the Christmas time is here
Here I stand alone in darkness
Scared of what may come
He's the one I fear the most
I beg you to end this
Now see him coming closer
I know who you are
You're the Ghost of Christmas yet to come
This Christmas, this Christmas
The Ghost are dancing and cheering
Your misdeeds, your misdeeds
Are paying off can't you see
This Christmas, this Christmas
The Ghost are dancing and cheering
Your misdeeds, your misdeeds
Are paying off can't you see
It's Christmas time, it's here for me
Christmas spirits everywhere
My redemption's coming near
'Cause the Christmas time
Christmas time is here
9. GHOST OF CHRISTMAS TO COME
[Scrooge:]
You're the third... The ghost of Christmas yet to come
Speak to me! Tell me what is to happen to me, to all of us
Very well... Then show me, spirit. Show me what I must see...
[Mr & Mrs Dilbert:]
- Look at this, what I found when I went through his belongings
It's like he never used this clock that's made of gold
- What a waste of a man, he was cruel indeed and selfish
And he died a lonely man, well so I'm told
[Scrooge:]
Who is this man, that they talk about?
The one that for them seem so cruel
Is he dead, I can't see
Tell me spirit who's the man in front of me!
[Town folks:]
- Have you heard?
- He is dead!
- What a pity
- Who you said?
Now he's lying there alone inside his rug
- Good riddance!
Always mean to the poor, and like many times before
I got sick and tired, always hearing humbug
[Scrooge:]
Who is this man, they keep talking about?
The one that for me now seem so cruel
As it seems, this is strange
If this future tells of me then I will change
[Spirit:]
Can't you see, this could be
In a not so far reality
Have your life been worth a single dime?
All the pain, all the horror that
Remains from your existence now
Will leave a mark of sorrow for all time
[Scrooge:]
I see how the Cratchit's are mourning
Wishing he still would be there
A tiny crutch to the wall
Tell me, Spirit, can you spare his life at all?
[Spirit:]
See the grave with a name that describes a pure evil
[Scrooge:]
I beg of you, show me no more!
[Spirit:]
This will be you if when the Christmas night is through you won't change
[Scrooge:]
I will change, spirit please let me go
[Scrooge:]
Spirit please, let me go, I can't handle any more
Of this unpleasant, evil future what may come
Saw the name of the grave and I know it's the same
As the one I bare, please don't make it happen
I know now, I know it too well how
To prevent such a cruel lonely fate
The spirits have opened my eyes now
The past, the present and what future may become
Saw the tears of the family mourning
Of their son, that I know I could have saved
Take me back, take me home, give me one more chance
To change what will come
Take me home
Take me back, spirit...
10. A CHRISTMAS HAS COME
[Scrooge:]
Hey boy, can you tell me, what day is it today?
[Boy:]
Well of course there sir, it's Christmas day
[Scrooge:]
The spirits have done it all in one night
Still there's time to make things right
"And so Ebenezer realized that it's not too late
For this old man to change his cruel fate
He wandered the streets, singing songs of cheer
Wishing everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year"
[Scrooge:]
I was greedy and cruel, felt so alone
Nobody with me to call my own
I thought I was happy, I thought I was right
But the spirits they helped me last night
By seeing the misery that I have caused
The unhappiness brought me a tear
So Merry Christmas to all
And a Happy New Year
[Spirit:]
They first took him back to see when he was
A happy, young child with a brighter future
He had everything, but still wanted more
Oh, how he have paid for that, since
He treated his friends badly, every day
No wonder he had no one near
Now Merry Christmas to all
And a Happy New Year
See now that man, he's totally changed, he's a different person (I'm a different person)
Where you find love, that's where you'll find Christmas - inside your heart, it's time...
[Scrooge:]
Time to now make amends
To tear down the fence
And go out into the world and see
What wonderful things it can bring
[Businessman Man:]
He sure wouldn't spare just one single dime
For the poor, little children that one day could die
But now we can see him here all the time
Spending his fortune, oh my
He's walking the streets, smiling, waving so glad
Singing songs of happy and cheer
[Scrooge:] Merry Christmas to all and a happy new year
Onto these glorious last days I have
I will spend it all on cheer and joyful
Time for friends, time for Fred
And time for dear Tiny Tim
Now I can't hardly believe
I spent all these years living in fear
Hiding inside my wall (Merry Christmas to all)
Where I shortly would fall (The alliance forever)
So Merry Christmas to all (Aahh Majepic Christmas time)
And a Happy New Year
Merry Christmas to you all
And so it was, that since that day
Ebenezer Scrooge celebrated Christmas in every kind of way
And with the words of Tiny Tim, who's journey had just begun
"Merry Christmas and God bless us, everyone"
