I look towards the shadowed form

I close my eyes and hope
To be awakened from this dream

A sudden vertigo washes over me
And as I open my eyes
I see myself ascending,
Drifting through the sky
Onwards toward The Void
Where my fate lies...

A cosmic wall of cloud
Cloaking an ocean of stars

A deathly cycle
An untold history repeats
No form left to tell its tale
The mists roll in
From the depths of The Void
Devastating everything that ever was

Radiating through the cosmos
The mists will return

As in the past
They will leave no trace
All form, all life, all matter
All will be erased

4. THE NOTHING WIND

I emerge from the great black hole
Traversing a dark new realm
Infinite darkness beyond
As far as these eyes can tell
This is unfathomable!
How do I go on from here?
Maybe I am beyond death
Is this my hell?

On I drift between nothing and nowhere
The Void is becoming my home
A silent wind now blowing
Freezing each and every bone
Stricken with fear
Yet somehow at peace with this place
Maybe I'll abandon my quest
Maybe I'll stay...

Lulled by The Nothing Wind
Waging internal war
The desire to float in the black
The need to go on
A haze far off in the distance
Gives life to unknown forms
Maybe there's hope for me yet

5. THE ABYSS OF ORGANIC FORMS

Descending deeper down into The Abyss
An iridescent glow lights the path
Primal howls and movement in the shadows
Fearful of what lies ahead
Do these eyes deceive?
Never could one imagine such monstrosities

Here in The Abyss of Organic Forms
From all cast off matter sick creatures are born
Colossal, nefarious, feared, and maligned
All forms decayed and corrupted thrive

Where torment rains down in perpetual storm
Enough to murder the strongest of minds
Mental paralysis, sanity unwinds

My only salvation is The Tower
I must see the end of this
Death lurks behind every corner

In the shadow of the monolith
The Tower stands tall, time stands still
Into the antechamber of this eternal place
My eyes lock with another's

Shrouded in deathly mist
I have reached the end
The Ancient's voice in my head
Decrepit, yet loud and clear

"You have been summoned here
To take my place.
The mists start to flow again,
All will be laid to waste.
All matter in the universe
Must start again anew.
