Break free of the mountain womb

The weak genuflect in houses of prayer
Their alters speak the name of another
Their steeples now your abacus of pain
One by one their souls entwain
Your elephantine hide meets futile throws
Whilst tornadic death your breath doth blow


2. SERMON ON THE MOUNT

He left for the mountains today
Consumed with grief
He'll make it go away
He will
Abandoned all he loves
All he hates
Ascended to the cliffs
Where he waits
He's still
He will

And on his way down
He reaches to the clouds
Praying they would cry for him
And the whistling wind tells him goodbye
As the sun breaks through the sky
The rocks below wait with a grin


3. DUST

She is everywhere
In the skeletal trees
The blossomed bones
The salted silt

She remains in the air
It's hard to breathe

Heaving coughs of dust
The skin, electrified
Again she appears
Black is the sky

Showered in suffocation
She opens the eyes
Unwraps the skin
Revealing our future
Erased between Heaven and Earth


4. ALLUVIUM

Such haste makes a man grow weak
Deaths like these, the incipit
They turn and stop as they wait to speak
Words choked away

Rain again
Such a futile attempt to disturb
Steadfast the torrent
They dive for answers

The sordid sand shows its breath
With little left unsung
The dying tides of clouds retreat
As heaven turns

Tallow feeds the wick again
The hungry tinder shakes
The lies of time are sheep again
As the Earthen Bard awakes


5. WINTRESS

So Cold
She slips past wooden seams
As her icy breath blows across the plain

Her frigid fingers caress the field
Calling earth to sleep
Mankind versus winter
Encapsulated in glass

The rest have been put to bed
Her test we'll fail
She answers no questions
No response to pleading shivers

Frozen to pieces
Shattered by life
She is relentless


6. NEVER THE SUN

Sheathed in this cave
Peel the parchment from these bones
Taken from warmth
Abandoned in darkness
Never a shadow
Never the sun
Inseminated anomaly
Fed from the floor
Fermented in filth
Broken in faith
Never a shadow
Never the sun


7. AEGRUS

Fever breathes the sickness in
Exhaled chills as death begins
Heart valves race as pressure goes
The mind's eye dims as darkness grows
Dry these veins
Vessels grip
Bleed this pain
Future stripped
Death brings you down to your knees
Pulse slowing as the body pleas
Muscles constrict, senses stop
Holding on to every drop
