Writhing worms wriggle through rotting flesh

Ride forth to a final, desperate battle
The forces of the living descend upon the citadel
Castle of the necromancer and his undead host
Hidden among dead trees, beneath icy mountains

The armies clash under twilight skies
Wraiths clad in black flit about the air
Howling with agonizing screams
Of a thousand cursed lives

Skeletal men with hollow black eyes
Animated by black magic, knowing no fear
Nearby, under the eclipse
A clash of steel breaks the silence

In a frost-weathered forest
A warrior, clad in black
Fueled by the darkest of energies
He strikes at his adversary
The embodiment of his former self,
A vision of a path not taken

The walls are breached! Pillars of smoke touch the sky
And red flames lick the black stone
The war goes on, but the battle is won
The earth trembles and breaks apart

The necromancer's apprentice is defeated

Scattered into the winds of history
The accursed artifacts now gathered,
Bound with the spirit of evil,
Surge with unholy power

Terrible forces gnawing at his mind,
Pushing him ever onwards
The path is clear,
He has seen the revelation:
He must apotheosize himself

Is a winter night, vast and eternal
All life is stopped
By a frost, biting and cold

This is where it all ends:

Between ancient mountains
In an unforgiving land.
Leafless trees, frozen in silence
Point gnarled branches
As if to lay blame
At the roots of another

Flakes of snow gently fall
In a cold dark silence
Trees dressed as white tombstones
Dot the dead landscape

Journey into the eternal winter,
Through white frost and endless cold
In a forsaken place of sorrow
Time stands still and silence reigns

I wander into the snowstorm,
A final journey for this mortal form,
A body that shall never be found
Even should sun melt the ice on this ground

The time has come to unleash the vengeance
Of the nameless gods who sit on thrones of glass.
Red tendrils creep forth, silently crawling,
Bringing death to the mortal fools
Who defiantly oppose the inevitable

Let them watch in horror as the realms collapse
Torn asunder by a power unmatched.
Planets crumble into the nameless abyss
Showing the true power of the forces of darkness.

It is known what ruin awaits all those who fail
To seize the mantle of this feeble existence
The truth is spoken by the void between the stars

To take into my being

11. SOLITUDE

He waits for the voice
He begs to see the vision
He longs to be defined
Amongst infinity
