1. IF SHAKEN THEY WILL FALL INTO THE MOUTHS OF DEVOURERS

Though they are as entangled thorns
And as drunkards with their drink
They shall be consumed
Like stubble thoroughly dried

YHWH is a jealous and revenging El
YHWH is a revenger and possessor of wrath
YHWH takes vengeance on His adversaries
And He watches for His enemies

YHWH is patient and great in power
But by no means leaves unpunished
YHWH has His way in the whirlwind and the storm
The clouds are the dust of His feet

YHWH is good, a stronghold in distress
And He knows those who take refuge in Him
With an overwhelming flood
He makes a complete end of the place
And darkness pursues His enemies


2. NO POSTERITY WILL CONTINUE YOUR NAME

From you came forth one who plots
Evil against YHWH, a worthless counsellor
Though they are strong and many
They shall be cut off and pass away

Your name shall be no longer sown
From the house of your mighty ones
I shall cut off the carved images
And idols you have made

I shall appoint your grave
For you have been of no account

See on the mountains the feet of Him
Who brings Good News, Who proclaims peace
Beli'yaal shall no more pass through you
He has been completely cut off


3. NO ADVERSARY OPPOSES HIM TWICE

He, who breaks in pieces
Has come up before your face

Guard the ramparts!
Watch the way!
Strengthen your loins!
Strengthen your power greatly!

She is empty
Even emptiness and waste
The heart has melted
And the knees, they shake

I am against you, declares the Lord
And I shall burn your chariots in smoke
And I shall cut off your prey in the earth
No longer is the voice of your messenger heard


4. ALL FACES TURN ASHEN

Your shepherds have slumbered
O sovereign Ashshur
Your nobles lie down to rest
Your people are scattered on the mountains
And no one gathers them

Your injury has no healing
Your wound is grievous
All who hear news of you
Will mock you to your face
For your evil passed over them continually
