Grand revelation
Forever hidden

Left in wonder
With an anxious heart pounding
We are but a speck
Upon a great plain
Left in wonder
By the mysteries unobtained


2. THIS FOREVER DISTANT FUTURE

Habitable planet
Violent and isolated
Whirling through infinity
Spinning rock of chaos
Into the unknown
Inevitable end in sight
In a far from distant future
Left here contemplating
Our mortality
Fighting and killing
Our way through diverse conflict
The only way we know
Dark and truly alone
Forever spinning onward
Into oblivion
Only a matter of time
Before we destroy ourselves


3. BUT WILL I ONLY SEE

The heaviness of nothing
Endless space
Eternal black
An abyss of confusion
Weighing on the mind
Burdened by wonder
We are but a mystery
Helplessly wandering
For a purpose to be served
Formulating notions
Creating a will
Religions established
To comfort our doubts
A result in death
Fear and divide
Conquering lands
The forming of tribes
I seek but will I only find
The darkness beyond
Resides in our minds


4. THE EVER CONSTANT BLACK

Doomed from the start
In the ever constant black
The violence of space
Embedded into us
The cycle of our faults
Destined to repeat
With eyes ever upward
We will always question
Until our extinction
Answers never found
And yet we keep spinning
Long after we're gone
Into the endless black
