Greed flaunts itself in all aspects of life
And carries a ravenous appetite for corrupting
What it consumes.
The desire to obtain and possess beyond necessity.
Invade and conquer to assure our dominance
For generations to follow.
With that in mind, let’s carve off the crust
And take a look within.
Greed as a whole and the role it plays in our surroundings; Carefully as not to let it gain total control.
Greed will always be with us never faltering
Every step of the way.
Therefore establishing a society
That goes against it is simply utopian.
People will always compete and accumulate power.
The desire is in our nature.
Any attempt at an egalitarian
Lifestyle is doomed to failure.
When you’re faced with choices
That may not be beneficial to sustaining life,
Often times the decision overpowers conscience thinking.
And avarice takes over,
Making possessions priority number one.
Nothing else is relevant.
All things desired immoderately.
Wanting absolutely more than is enough.
This way of thinking is detrimental
To the actuality of bettering one’s self.
The more you have,
The less of a burden life has become, in theory.
Truth be told,
Complexities arise when avaritia is deeply seeded within.
Nothing’s ever enough!


3. CONTINUOS EXPANSION

Certainly the creation of
The universe was a result of greed.
Perhaps an implosion caused by
Two objects occupying the same location?
Maybe an entity far beyond our realm of consciousness?
Displaying aggressive behavior to fill a void?
At any rate, the universe is constantly expanding.
Forever, devouring more space.
Rather indulgent!?
When given an opportunity to flourish,
Organisms are surely greedy by design.
Spreading the seed to ensure maximum occupancy.
Displaying the unique trait to pollinate from miles away
When native habitat is defenseless,
The invasive species shall dominate without jurisdiction.
Spreading like wild fire,
With no competition for resources
It becomes utterly unstoppable.
Imagine a species devouring everything in its path,
Forcing native life to its demise.
Shifting, destroying the dynamics of the ecosystem,
Forever altering its surroundings.
Before intelligent life on earth,
Some form of bacterium must have collided with us whilst
Yravelling by asteroid.
Intergalactic transplant.
This alien substance given the opportunity to prosper. Multiplying rapidly, dramatically reducing native wildlife,
Voraciously consuming all food supplies.
At this rate,
Our planet may soon be comprised
Of organisms out of control,
Eclipsing what once was.
Forever altering the architecture.


4. REPACITY IN NATURE

Gluttony in the animal kingdom
Is another example of selfish creatures.
Storing food for the winter.
Ensure hibernation is survivable.
Gather as much food as possible so that the bloodline can
Continue forging on like years before and more to follow.
We think of greed as desire for anything related to money,
Possessions and power.
This is true but only when observing living things
And their behaviors within their respective tribes.
Naturally wanting to further their kin in the kingdom,
Establishing a family known for strength and supremacy,
One who will reign until
A new leader rises through the ranks.
Kings shall chose with whom they mate,
Selecting as many as inclined.
Chances are then increased of furthering
Future familial lines.
Bring forth the kill so that he may delegate
Who feeds this day and who is left with the carcass.
This is the type of greed that lies within animal instinct
Forever shaping their days of tomorrow.
Without ever knowing the ideals of money,
Animals’ attitudes are instilled with this desire,
This need to battle and overcome anything and everything.
Rapacity in nature.
Long before mankind,
Gluttony trumps over generosity and demonstrates dominance
Perhaps this is how man concocted rule to govern
And alter the outcome for the masses.
Humanity is hopeless, doomed!
If we let a small few lead us to the edge of the cliff.
Only a matter of time until we’re forced over the cusp,
By then it will surely be too late to ever make amends.


5. THE DARK AGE

Avarice is considered one of the deadliest vices
During the rise of capitalism,
Or earlier, the rise of monetary economy.
It heads the list for authors engaged in the task
Of converting others from pagan materialism
To Christian spirituality.
One of the darkest times known to man.
Brutal slayings and genocide
For not accepting the way of Christ.
The dictators of god demand blind adoption of their beliefs. So that the masses are led like sheep,
By the wolves.
A viable solution for general control.
Be wary of what you say, do, believe,
For you will be judged and ultimately meet your maker.
The evidence of the ways of the past
Were burned and destroyed.
History dissolved with a sweep of the country side.
All this for social control and monetary gain.
A way to sway the outcome.
Set their rules to govern.
A new list of laws to live by, disobey
And consequence will torture your soul for eternity in hell
Promised Land!?
Promised Land more repugnant than you could imagine.

6. BELOW THE GLOBAL THRONE

Our world isn't just filled with hate,
Hunger and poverty.
This is a world perhaps filled with more greedy people
Than those who are compassionate.
Stopping at nothing to advance at all costs.
We strip this world of all of its finite resources.
Taking what wasn’t meant to be taken.
It’s just common sense,
That if you remove something completely from the equation
It will have a negative outcome in another area all together. Crude oil might be in fact a natural lubricant,
Eliminating it would drastically change the way
We think about earthquakes and tectonic activity.
In turn, creating devastating storms and catastrophic events
Threatening the entire human race.
Global decay, enslavement is sure to follow.
In this predicament,
Who will we turn to?
Plague pandemic.
Pestilence is taking over.
Don’t be surprised when the scapegoat’s revealed
And you find yourself looking at your own reflection.
Duped by the powers that be,
Convincing you that you need them.
Even though they caused this mess all on their own.
We will be the ones to pick up the pieces.
Everything is falling into place for them.
Widespread disease, famine and rebellions.
Population reduction is inevitable.
When we’re most vulnerable they will lay the trap.
Helpless we sit below the global throne.


7. THE OVERDOSEER

They witness every single move you make.
The almighty eye in the sky is sure to capture every moment
Every precious step or foolish mistake
That you’ve ever made,
They have record of it.
Analyzing and devising a plan to make them all the more rich
Constantly they adapt their ways of marketing everything. Continuously changing advertising to better wash your brain Without you ever even knowing that they did.
Making their database a tool
For predicting the changing trends
Individualizing all aspects of the media for personal gain
By submersing you in a completely personalized exhibit,
Displaying only things you covet and desire.
They shape your mind into believing
That everything you see is what you want.
Making you the fool, they control your every move.
The end of an era begun without ever knowing that it did. We are all pawns in this twisted game of chess,
Incapable of ever reaching the king
And his men have but one topic on their agenda,
Manipulate every facet of your miserable life.
They’ve built a wall around themselves excluding the masses
Making choices that will affect generations to come.
Shaping the future to benefit them and only them.
Self inflicted attacks on homeland
To sway the public in another direction.


8. ALTERED EXISTENCE

Have you ever wondered what
The child of god would really be like?
With perfect attributes and flawless characteristics. Making human beings a thing of the past
By leaving nothing to chance.
Genetically modifying the DNA of your unborn child
To obtain absolute perfection.
This is ridiculous, what happened to the gift of surprise,
That yearning feeling being lifted
As you see your child for the first time.
Now you will know exactly what is to become of him.
Basically predetermining their path in life
To fulfill the areas in which you struggled.
This idea makes me sick.
Living your life through one of a child?
Playing god!
This will only segregate the wealthy from the rest of us.
Eliminating the middle class all together.
The price of this does not only come as monetary
It also bares a highly moral stigma.
Altering the fate of the human race.
All it takes is a simple switch of synthetic genes
And you have a colossal catastrophe on your hands,
Only the affluent are privileged to it.
There is a current situation at hand,
One more prevalent than the aforementioned.
Manipulating genetic sequences of organisms,
Presently we have herbicidal resistant crops.
But are they safe for human consumption?
If they have that effect on the pesticides
What kind of toll is being taken within our bodies?
If these components can be added,
What’s stopping them from removing
All their nutritional value?
We run the risk of losing control.
Obliteration of human kind,
Total reduction on the entire global population.


9. HARVESTING THE UNKNOWN

Our own greed will be our demise.
Wars are staged in order to attain resources.
After the alleged threat is neutralized,
We occupy their land and set up elaborate army
Installations to ensure the harvesting of their commodities
What will happen when we bark up the wrong tree
And forced into a nuclear stalemate yet again.


10. PURELY INFECTED REBIRTH

This time it won’t end up so peacefully,
With the launch codes entered, the clock ticks down.
Both parties have given the executive order
To eradicate one another.
The day of reckoning is upon us now,
Nothing will stop the inevitable outcome.
As the bombs hits, the flash is mesmerizing.
We stand and watch as the wave
Incinerates everything in its path.
Nothing survives,
The enormous dust cloud will block out our sun
And freeze everything beneath it.
Nuclear winter is upon us now.
What will become of this planet?
Now that it’s been ridden of the human parasite.
Centuries shall pass and mother nature
Has had the chance to be reborn.
Insects will find their place at the top of the food chain
Once again, the cycle of life commences.
A long evolutionary road awaits.
From critter to crustacean, every arduous step must be made
Hopefully the outcome will differ
From the one we currently know of.
A doubtful scenario.
Greed will find its place eventually.
Corrupting everything in its path.
It ceases for nothing.
A planetary collision would be ideal,
Slamming this horrid place into fragments,
Wiping all indicators that this planet ever existed
No hope for humanity.
