1. ALHAZRED'S APPRENTICE

CHOIR:
An old colonial house in the countryside
Someone is chanting songs in a cellar
Strange lights, dust and candles
Abdul Alhazred's apprentice
Yes, he's waiting for something

ALHAZRED'S APPRENTICE:
Oh, forgotten gods! Oh, Ancient Ones!
Bring back to life thy kingdom

CHOIR:
These words once spoken can never be taken back

ALHAZRED'S APPRENTICE:
Is it only in my mind?
I can almost feel unnatural presence

CHOIR:
A presence from the depths!

Brighter flames, feeling colder
Intolerable odour made him sick
Something’s moving, it's crawling

ALHAZRED'S APPRENTICE:
It is breathing...

CHOIR:
It's screaming! An ancient god
Astonishing majesty of the cosmic cycle
The stars are right again

ALHAZRED'S APPRENTICE:
I have reached unknown dimension
I have summoned an ancient god!
His first call was irresistible
His first call could... could freeze the blood

CHOIR:
Black hole appeared in the floor
The dark doorway beyond of time
The aperture is black with darkness
And a stench as of a thousand opened graves

ALHAZRED'S APPRENTICE:
Ia Dagon! Ia Hydra!
I had spoken the holy seal

CHOIR:
After vigintillions of years
Older than time
Cthulhu’s spawn is loose again
And ravening for delight

ALHAZRED'S APPRENTICE:
And all its glory
All my dreams
Slowly are fading away

CHOIR:
Man lives on an island of ignorance
In the midst of black seas of infinity
And it was not meant that he should voyage far

The are doors that should remain locked
A knowledge that should stay undiscovered
Unopened books and stories never to be told

ALHAZRED'S APPRENTICE:
His first call was irresistible
His first call could... could freeze the blood

CHOIR:
The thing cannot be described
It lumbered into his sight
And gropingly squeezed itself
Through that fatal portal he made

ALHAZRED'S APPRENTICE:
Ia Dagon! Ia Hydra!
I had broken the holy seal

CHOIR:
After vigintillions of years
Older than time
Cthulhu’s spawn is loose again
And ravening for delight

ALHAZRED'S APPRENTICE:
And all its glory
All my dreams
Slowly are fading away

CHOIR:
Man lives on an island of ignorance
In the midst of black seas of infinity
And it was not meant that he should voyage far

ALHAZRED'S APPRENTICE:
Merciful gods! Oh, Ancient Ones!
Please, close the gate of thy kingdom

ANCIENT ONES:
Your words once spoken can never be taken back
Didn't you read entire Necronomicon?

CHOIR:
Vile beast is here to stay!

2. DEVOTED TO HORROR

CHOIR:
Horror!

The pale autumnal moon over the graves
Casting long horrible shadows
The grotesque trees, the antique church
The odors of mould and worst of all
Worst of all, worst of all...

ST JOHN:
Hear? Growl! Something is baying
All night someone is trying
To hunt us down in this churchyard

CHOIR:
Louder and louder
Closer and closer
Nearer and nearer
The barking is growing strong

ST JOHN'S FRIEND:
Grim collectors, we devoted our lives
To horror till nightmare fill our eyes
Our museum is a blasphemous place
We’d assembled loot with taste

ST JOHN:
Dig, dig, dig, dig, dig
Dig my friend
Deep, deep, deep, deep, deep
Into the ground

CHOIR:
Into the grave
Unnamed is near, unseen is there
The trees, the fog, the presence...

ST JOHN:
Faster and faster
Deeper and deeper

ST JOHN'S FRIEND:
Horror, horror, horror

ST JOHN:
At last!
Now we had assembled
The worst of the trophies;
An universe of terror
Amulet of decay
To excite our jaded sensibilities

CHOIR:
Suddenly stronger wind rushed by

ST JOHN:
Stenches of the opened grave made us sick
Ancient One!

CHOIR:
Living monstrosity had raised from its grave
And from its rotten jaws we've heard a well known bay

Die, die!
St John torn to ribbons
Die, die!
Mass of mangled flesh

ST JOHN'S FRIEND:
It disappeared! Is it buried again?
I must bury an amulet in that same place!

We're no vulgar ghouls, we devoted our lives
To horror till madness fill our eyes
Our museum is a pervert's place
We’d assembled loot with taste

CHOIR:
Now seek, seek, seek, seek
Seek that place
Weep, weep, weep, weep, weep
Mud on nails

ST JOHN'S FRIEND:
Faster and faster
Deeper and deeper

CHOIR:
Empty grave!

ST JOHN'S FRIEND:
Now, as the baying of that dead
Fleshless monstrosity grows again
I shall seek with my gun the oblivion
Which is my only refuge from the unnamed

(excepts from "The Hound” by H.P. Lovecraft)
