1. PATTERN

(Instrumental)

2. FINITE INFINITE

A state of slumber and void
No hourglass, no sand to fall
Silent and constant grey calm
No one to see, no one to tell
What was before
The one spark
When the eggshell broke...

After the first cry, free to run and burn
Reaching the furthest boundaries of space
Waves of energy moulding their new reign
Primordial chaos tamed by soothing reins
And then, when harmony revealed her laws of consonance
Began the concert, the hymn of time

Hail now, past the storm
The sublime beauty of the cosmic song
A silent, hidden force
Feeding on itself since the universe was born

A restless quiver laying in a planet's heart
And in the blazing fire of a newborn sun
Then, like a sudden wave rising from the deep
It will make the worlds collide
The stars explode and turn to dust
Then the ashes would combine, you'd see them
Burning, growing, spinning, falling
Giving a new galaxy its life
Making every death a new beginning

While one, still it's all
The immortal energy in a chain of mortal forms
Alive through the fall
The fiery Phoenix, seeking a new way to sing and soar

One last death may end it all
Maybe this will keep gyring on
Through change, in a restless game of rise and fall

While one, still it's all
The immortal energy in a chain of mortal forms
Alive, through the fall
The eternal Phoenix again will soar.

3. THE REINS OF LIFE

(Part I: Imaginary Waterscape)

(Instrumental)

(Part II: A Warm Awakening)

Rise, rise and breathe!
Wind of Life
Let the waltz begin!
Ah, rise and breathe!
May your song quicken a new birth!
Rouse matter from her sleep
Blow, on the silent world

Blow, quicken a new birth!
Scatter on the silent world little seeds

In the wine-dark oceans wide
On a planet runnin’ round a young sun
One in the far Milky Way
Remote part of the universe
Some day, elemental buds began
Suddenly, a new dance
A new reign of cells did build their first walls

Energy swarming
Dna forming
Now the seeds are planted
Life is born!

In the turmoil of the Earth
The first tiny forms become
The first leaf on the tree of Life
Oxygen fills the atmosphere more and more
Then soon, in this endless growth, behold
The first breath, the first beating heart
The first brain
Led by a will to live on…

…rise and breathe!
Whole cosmos in a shell so thin!
Striving, to preserve their forms
Spreading all over the world…

Now, a new era is born
The Earth is conquered!

(Part III: The Contemplation)

This is meant to be the Eden
The original place
The story and the heart
The house and the household
The panorama over the vastest sea
The vision that revealed it all…

That voice that resounds within
Is the grasp of mother nature
Embraces us with sprouting flowers
Caresses us with sweet warm honey
And keeps us safe with Her Love

Contemplate her
Contemplate her, young life
Bow to her might
Don’t fear it
But gaze, stare, admire
Feel that shiver coming on thy spine
And prepare…
Let the journey begin!

(Part IV: Journey Begins)

Life, energy (Energy flowing – A blooming flower)
Wander, breathing endlessly (This fragile wonder – The reign of life)
Rise, gentle wind (The microcosm – endless gyre)
Now, may the waltz begin (The laws of existence – The reins of life)

4. EVOLUTION

While islands sink and mountains fade
The present world is slowly shaped
By laws of withering and change
The fittest one will rise and stay…

Icy fields: an ermine in white
Will avoid the falcon’s eye
While waiting hidden the clueless prey
Only the heirs of the ones
Holding the key to survival will grow!

The deer and wolf, whales
Snakes slithering low
The feathered bird riding the wind
All found a place in the bounds of their world
Gone with the fall of just one
It all is so frail!

And when the tables will turn
Will the white rose be saved or be killed by her thorns?
The final page will never come
Endless chain of ephemeral ways of Life!

In lands of green or deserts dry
A different form shall win the fight

While islands sink and mountains fade
The fittest one will rise and stay
When lands of green turn bare and dry
the time has come to evolve or die!

The world is set aflame!
And now who’s to survive
the new rules of the game?

High trees leaving behind,
To stand on plains so wide
A spear in the hand to hunt a prey
Only the heirs of the ones
holding the key to survival will grow!

Out in the grass fields, on wuthering shores
beyond woods, high peaks and snow
All the while changing to fit in their world:
Only one moment in time, a creature so frail

Sitting by flames in winter nights
Singing those tales of ages gone
How life began, how mankind will fall
In awe wondering what’s beyond

While islands sink and mountains rise
The unfit form is left behind
By laws of withering and change
the present world is slowly shaped”

“I’m a winner in the fight
The fittest form in present times
Bound to wither and delay
The fall to come ‘till I breathe!”

5. CIVILIZATION

Well may it thrive
Our world of Man!
We’re building a new way
Our home!
Science, Philosophy
Art to understand the world
The wonder and awe for this wide
Planet we live on!

Where will we start
Molding our home?
We’ll settle down and give
A name to it all…

In the vastness of this world
We’ll pave a road
The challenges of this life
We shall overcome
Through golden fields
Ditches will flow
And ‘round the fire we’ll feast
When the harvest comes

With the knowledge of the laws
Nature did weave
We can live on and (We can grow on)
Soar!

Then may it thrive,
This world of Man!
We’re building a new way
Our home!
Newfound technology
A search for energy
Then gardens and towns growing wide…
…onward!

6. SUBTLE BORDERLINE

(Instrumental)

7. THE WORLD BENEATH MY FEET

There is a tower rising on
Towards the midnight sky
The symbol of supremacy
Our will in stony spires
Above grey waters
The mirror of the truth

I see the shining of the steel
As thousand trees fall down
The more we gain, the more we yearn
The more we tame the wild
We’re rising higher
The reins of life we hold
Creating a new world

And one by one the waves will fall
Back and the sea retire
We need more land, the desert’s sand
Will turn to a green playground
We have just one master:
The instinct to dominate
The will to have it all!

In my hands the divine grace
The power of destruction and to create
In my mind the course of fate
In this dance of existence I will set the pace
No rest until I’ll see the world beneath my feet
No rest until I’ll see the world bow down to me

How can’t you understand?
You know we have the right
Beyond the limit we can go
Rule on death and life
Indeed we must find
Something we can strive for…

The common enemy
Nature has gone down
And our lust to kill
Is aimed towards mankind
In blinding hunger
We keep on marching forward
We’re marching out to war!

There’s no other way to gain
The world’s domination, the golden age
I can ease this endless pain
In the tale of evolution I will write the final page
No rest until I’ll see the world on hands and knees
I am the god to lead the world, bow down to me!

8. FINE ART OF HAVOC

Come, play the finest game!
With gain and life at stake
See them crawl and strive!
Watch mercy, kindness, law
Become hate, chaos
Be torn in fire!
Isn’t that the one vocation of man
Crushing what lies in our way?

Come, play the slaughter game!
Let masks of mercy fade and havoc rise! (Let it rise!)

Pawns all aligned, lay down before my sight…
This is the moment, the die is cast
And the massacre will soon begin
These eyes dim and wild, a silent quivering
The only sound’s the wind
Craving, feral egoism…
Just let it out
Let the hunger for preys and lust and fright!
Ignite the world! (Out to war!)

Bow to the martial law
Civilization failed
To quell our desire! (Let me rise!)
To kill’s the finest art
To paint amazing sceneries of blood and fire!
What shall be the fittest way
To slay our own kind?

“Bow to the martial law
Civilization failed
To kill’s the finest art
To paint amazing sceneries!”

This endless, primal force
Lets masks of mercy fade (Let masks of mercy fade)
As logic meets the wild! (Lust and mind!)
Be it desert, forest, sea
They all are chessboards for our fights! (Death and strife!)
Our pride shall swell to see
The world enveloped in a fire!

9. THE GRIM LESSON (EVOLUTION DEMISE)

(First Act)

As I open my eyes
Oh, give me the heart
To face the grim truth I can’t deny!
The greenlands are now bare
The spring of life has dried
The mother holding her dying child
What has been left behind
of towers rising high?

And while we thought we had
The brightest of all minds…
…what have we done?
The will to hold the reins
Born from the wish for life
A fever, devouring all we had
Unfit to win the fight
We were our own demise!

(Second Act)

“But in this madness what have you gained?
Demolished your home for a jail!
Was this the unavoidable fate
For power in the hands of apes?
Oh, in this madness what have you gained?
The illusionary throne you built
Fallen, scattered ruins and tears
Is this mankind?
Is this the logic beast?”

“Was this the price for the apple you seized?
Was this the wisdom you claimed to seek?
Was this the control you claimed to keep?
Was this your dream?
Silent’s the song of humanity
Nothing more’s beyond!”

“What have you gained?
Nothing more beyond”

“Fallen, scattered ruins, tears!
Perish, foolish beast!”

(Third Act)

“Where is the awareness, the wonder for it all?
Where is the beauty, the poetry?
Where is the wisdom you claimed to seek?
What of all this?
What did you find past the boundary?
Was this all enough?
Will you ever learn?”

“Where is the balance between you and the world
The one that made you be born and live?
How could you lose the survival key
Throw it away?
Illusions fade and your towers sink”

“Where is the awareness, that made you win and grow?
Where is the wisdom you claimed to seek?
Where is the control you claimed to keep?
Burnt by your own flames!”

(Final Act)

But in the aftermath
Of our darkest night
There is no light of a new sun
Beyond the horizon line
We may build a new path
Or just evolve to dust…

10. DEEP SIX

May the Mistral rise and blow
May the wintry mantle fall
May it dye this scenery in white
This silent field of stones
Bitter and wide…
“May their spirit rest” the letters cry, but…
The echo of screams, these scars will stay!

Bury all our hope and our dreams
The ruins of our world, our own kin
The pitiful beliefs and the pride
Bury all the progeny of mankind
What is the point in regret and wails?
Awareness always comes far too late!

Can you tell me where the sense is?
Living on when death is all we achieve!
What other way can we try?
Dig your grave, foolish child!
Do you believe you can survive?
Bear the consequence of matricide!
Come on, face your demise!

Bury hope, let despair lead you to thy grave
Bury hope, enter hell, come inside!
(The warmth of life shall fade)
Bury hope, for Eden’s land has been lost
(Heaven is lost if there was one)

May silence cover the earth
May Ammit devour us all!
End the song of mankind
Dire song, turned into the dirge for Life!

From now on we can’t change our way!
“Can’t you look the truth in the eyes?”
The lesson we did learn…
“Oh, sure, you failed for the last time!”

Tears may well fall over silent graves
‘till new flames will shred the world again
Memories fade as time flows
We forget and it’s all vain!
Bury every sterile seed of hope
May shadows of hell feast
Upon this blasted kind! (Six feet underground)

11. PILLAR OF HOPE

(Part I: Essence)

Rise, my children, now
A new day of light is here
Beyond the curtain of night, and I see…

The flowing of time, morn and eventide
The hawk on the green woods, the mountains high
Now the circle of change and life
Can dance again under starlit skies

A new horizon seems to wait
And from the embers leaps a flame
Now, through silence, hear my cry:
I am a muse of life

I am here
Making the world breathe since ancient times
Letting life rise from the ashes
For nothing really dies
I am the keeper of the flame
Singing on!

Aware to be just one tune in the song
Remember the grim past and let it go
Now you can see that fall and rise
Are all the same, and your pain will die

So, now, take in the beauty of sun and rain
Be part of the one, perfect game
Dance to the pace set by time
Led by the reins of life

Hear me, perfect symphony of endless strife
Beyond the limit of the single form
I live in a never-ending gyre
I am the pillar standing tall since ancient times
Letting life rise from the ashes
And nothing really die
I am the Phoenix from the flames, soaring on

(Part II: Equilibrium)

Born from stardust
Energy from the void
Atoms of the universe
Thin equilibrium

Beauty between the beings
Survivor of a million species
Chosen one in countless decades
“Man”

By nature, wanderer
By instinct, hunter
By reason, conqueror
“Life”

Creator of new
And great, impressive monuments
Things Earth could have never seen before
There to stay and remind
“Art”

Hands, able to forge the unseen
Intelligence to overcome any challenge
How could all this awesomeness be dispersed in such a wasteful way:
“Pride”

Forgot our roots
Unlearned the good old past
Slanted to the future
With no regret, no pity, no mercy

We tried to superimpose ourselves
On our bountiful home land
And we got back nothing but ash and unforgiveness
That’s not what mankind deserved

Sure, we were warned!
We could have been able to recover
Completely from our stall
Set our wings back into the air
And soar again
