When earth and heaven separates -
rises a ruler of the shades.
From beyond the seven gates,
Speaks a mouth dark of rage

Goddess of Irkalla, the land of the dead
Born of stars, the lady under earth.
Guardian over the fount of life
In the realms of Down Below

In her dark kingdom -
The house of no return
deprived of light,
liberation through sacrifice.

If she is so to be willing
The dead will outnumber the living
Gather the assembly of the gods,
to face her charge at the courtyard

When nothing crows on earth,
The priests from Cuthah praise

Beginning of all
Creation, protection and destruction - you are.

Time who will devour all
all arise from her,
the divinity itself

the Primordial One
dark and formless
ineffable and inconceivable

Vicious, slayer of spirits
supreme mistress of the universe
and it’s elements

in the cremation-ground,
naked, and with dishevelled hair
intently meditates
with each recitation an offering
