The dokomati say there is no end
When bathed in the light
& struck open from another world

I feel like I am fast forwarding through a life I’ve already lived

A flower by any other name
Wouldn’t burn so nice
My heart has spikes in it
And the beauty is lost
Hyacinth

Rain covers the last legs of our journey
The walls of the city are a day up the road
The king has been dead
A fever took his throne

I’ve been tasked to bring a book
Ancient from desert lands
To resurrect this wicked king
And his evil demon hand

Yesterdays dream,
Delightful obscene

When lights shine from below the horizon
And rain sprays sidewinding into the face of travelers
Trekking toward drifting starlight
