1. COCKROACHES & MOMUMENTS

Our Poets will curse their own kingdoms,
And time will demolish our shame.
The Ages will spit on our faces,
And songs will forget our true name.

Down there, on the tombs of our fathers,
The light of tomorrow will write
A truth that has never been written,
And then may our passions ignite.

And now you will tell me your stories,
Of failures I'll surely deny.
The sequence that starts Armageddon,
Cockroaches and monuments wave us Goodbye.

To Hell with the dreams of our childhood,
We never looked straight in the fire,
Our ships never left for new planets,
Our hearts never spoke of desire.

Down there, on the tombs of our fathers,
Will blow but a breeze of despair,
The desert will welcome it's laughter,
And then we will know who we were.

And now you will tell me your stories,
Of failures I'll surely deny.
The sequence that starts Armageddon,
Cockroaches and monuments wave us Goodbye.

2. BANNER OF LIGHT

Come see how the mighty have fallen,
The heroes I dreamt as a child
Could not slay mechanical dragons
And bullets were hard to come by.
Come see how the mighty have fallen.

Come drink to the glory of Nations
Through our own inaction undone.
The errors of past generations
The errors of men yet to come.
Come drink to the glory of Nations.

The Truth that the mirror distorts
And madmen emblaze on their scars,
I took as my banner of light
Sewn together with blood and the fabric of stars.

Let's witness the downfall of Legends
Let's drown our beliefs in the sea,
And dance through the flames of our making
Not knowing the Men we could be.
Let's live through our downfall like legends!

The Truth that the mirror distorts
And madmen emblaze on their scars,
I took as my banner of light
Sewn together with blood and the fabric of stars.

3. WE MADE YOU

There were dreams to be had
And heights to be reached
New ideals to be born in your mind.
There were seas to be crossed
And walls to be sieged
Yet you chose this and left them behind.

In the cities of light
That we built in ourselves
Who will rule as benevolent kings?

There were flames to be fed
With the passions of men
Used as beacons to guide from afar.
There were breezes and shades
And countless cascades
Yet we made you the way that you are.

In the cities of light
That we built in ourselves
Who will rule as benevolent kings?
Once you plugged-in your soul
To a digital screen
So what use would you have for such things?

There were lands to be born
By the blood of the saints
Made immortal in verses and rhymes.
In an ancient glade
There was love to be made
Yet we made you a man of your times.

4. SINBAD

The light caressed our features
And blessed by benevolent creatures
We fantasised gold in the distance
And on we rode.

Soon truth would creep up behind us
And forge all these sackles that bind us
For such is the way of existence
Most of the times.

Trust in me
There are cities of gold, you'll see
I wish I could say there was some other way
But these lies are all I have left.

And did you know,
There are oceans of light where we go?
I wish I could say there was some other way
But these lies now are all that I am.

My empty words compel you
The lies I've been meaning to tell you,
We watched them come true together
One by one.
Once I'd thrive inside you
The seas that I crossed just to find you
We watched time transform them to deserts,
Mile after mile.

Our hungry eyes will devour
The lies of this desperate hour
But bring me truth, bring me honour
And watch me dissolve.

So let the light be your banner
And hold up your head in a manner
That lets the rain wash you clean of
My misdeeds.

My empty words compel you
The lies I've been meaning to tell you,
We watched them come true together
One by one.
Once I'd thrive inside you
The seas that I crossed just to find you
We watched time transform them to deserts,
Mile after mile.

5. MAPS OF THE SKY

Tell me,
How the dream expires,
Crushed by the weight of the world.
Show me,
All your fears and desires
And how will this torment unfold.

Take me,
Where we used to try
To lift ourselves up in the air.
And show me,
All your maps of the sky,
And promise you'll fly with me there.

Promises we could not keep
And ancient vows we put to sleep
Those were the days that we swore we would live forever.
Now let's bury in the ground
The lies we sought , the truths we found,
With empty eyes and a voice that echoes silence.

Brother,
Now we meet once more,
To ponder the weight of our deeds.
Let us,
Walk again by the shore
And laugh at the world as it bleeds.

Listen,
How the winds defy
And scatter the ghosts of free men.
And let go,
Of your maps of the sky
And promise you won't try again.

Promises we could not keep
And ancient vows we put to sleep
Those were the days that we swore we would live forever.
Now let's bury in the ground
The lies we sought, the truths we found,
With empty eyes and a voice that echoes silence.

6. CURIOUS TOMORROWS

So is this the time for redemption?
Could be but, I've used up my chances.
We're victims of strange circumstances,
Still having eachother to blame.

We're so past the point of salvation,
Still radiant in our former glory.
Yet treading unknown territory,
So close to the edge of the world.

We pray for the sleepers to waken,
And lie to ourselves that we're not slaves.
We speak of revolt on the airwaves,
And lock up our doors from the wolves.

So is this the time for redemption?
Could be but, I've used up my chances.
We're victims of strange circumstances,
Still having eachother to blame.

We're heading for curious tomorrows,
The arrows of time point to chaos.
One last time, our natures betray us,
And force us to meet eye to eye.

We pray for the sleepers to waken,
And lie to ourselves that we're not slaves.
We speak of revolt on the airwaves,
And lock up our doors from the wolves.

So is this the time for redemption?
Could be but, I've used up my chances.
We're victims of strange circumstances,
Still having eachother to blame.

We're heading for curious tomorrows,
The arrows of time point to chaos.
One last time, our natures betray us,
And force us to meet eye to eye.

7. IN THE HERE AND THE EVERAFTER

Will you miss the sea when it's gone from your eyes?
Will you hear her silent calling?
Will you come to know that utopia lies,
And the spires of old are falling?

There is madness here and it's bound to get worse
With every hour
Things we all hold dear will go down the same course
From sweet to sour.

So speak to me now of the power you hold
Over creatures of hollow laughter
And nail down my hands on a cross of deceit
In the here and the everafter.

Will you hide the Sun in a cloud of your own
Twisted desires?
As the rain dissolves all the truths we had known,
So end our empires.

Let them nail you down on a cross of deceit
By your own choices.
Let them make your crown be a crown of defeit
And mute your voices.

So speak to me now of the power you hold
Over creatures of hollow laughter
And nail down my hands on a cross of deceit
In the here and the everafter.

8. A TEST OF WILLS

We play such nonsensical games you and I,
We gamble with words yet our actions will justify
The ineffable cold of the end
And its tangible silence
But at least we can still pretend.

We act in this tedious play, yet we claim
That we lowered our masks, still our faces remain the same,
And we hold to these feelings of old
As we struggle with shadows
When our shadows are truths untold.

Dance with me, bleed with me
Gaze with me through the face of the void,
Things we loved, gods we praised
Trails we blazed, and the lives we destroyed.

It is all just a test of our wills, do we dare
To aknowledge that time, will erase all the things we were?
As we welcome the cold of the end
In appropriate silence
Wishing that we could still pretend.

Dance with me, bleed with me
Gaze with me through the face of the void,
Things we loved, gods we praised
Trails we blazed, and the lives we destroyed.

9. THIS WASTELAND

And so, the radiant hues of the morning
Will light up the faces of stone.
Parading the feeble jewels that they've gathered
Along their torturous road.

And He who offers life to this wasteland
Will dance with the mistress of dust
A waltz of sparse and strange orchestration
Yet no man will be there to watch.

This land, this age and its gods dissasemble
The essence of heroes bygone.
My lords do not mistake me for (a) craven
As I mistook you for lords.

And so, we've come as envoys of dreamlands
Across oceans of infinite time
To find that Man is not to our liking
Yet somehow we've lost our way home.

And He who offers life to this wasteland
Will dance with the mistress of dust
A waltz of sparse and strange orchestration
Yet no man will be there to watch

This land, this age and its gods dissasemble
The essence of heroes bygone.
My lords do not mistake me for (a) craven
As I mistook you for lords.

10. ON THE FIELDS OF JULY

Let me play you a song and maybe I'll help you remember,
There was fire in your eyes
On the day that we parted our ways.
I don't know you anymore
But your smile has the taste of December
And the thorns on your crown mark
The passing of hours and days.

It will come back to us on some night of delirious fever
How we abandoned a child on the fields of July.
As we traded our lives for thirty pieces of silver
In the mirror we gazed and bid our goodbye.

On the fields of July,
Where as children we buried our treasure
And the gleam of our swords,
Would bend the world to our will.
I don't go there anymore,
Seems that life has denied me that pleasure,
But when everything's done,
Will you help me remember the thrill?

It will come back to us on some night of delirious fever
How we abandoned a child on the fields of July.
As we traded our lives for thirty pieces of silver
In the mirror we gazed and bid our goodbye.
