1. FEROCIOUS WOLVES

Watch out
For false prophets

They come to you
In sheep’s clothing

But inwardly they are
Ferocious wolves
By their fruit you will
Recognize them


2. ASK

Ask and it will be given to you
Seek and you will find
Knock and the door
Will be opened to you


3. GO NOW

Go now and leave your life of sin


4. MY SERVANT

Here is my servant
Whom I have chosen
The one I love
In whom I delight
I will put
My Spirit on him


5. A SMOLDERING WICK

A bruised reed he will not break
And a smoldering wick he will not snuff out

Enter through the narrow gate

For wide is the gate
And broad is the road
That leads to destruction
And many enter through it

But small is the gate

And only a few find it

Woe to those who call evil good

Who put darkness for light

The guilty for a bribe
But deny justice
To the innocent


10. THE FIRST COMMANDMENT

Love the Lord your God
With all your heart
And with all your soul
And with all your mind
And with all your strength


11. WITH YOU

When you pass through the waters
I will be with you

And when you pass through the rivers
They will not sweep over you

When you walk through the fire
You will not be burned
The flames will not set you ablaze


12. IN HUMAN LIKENESS

Christ Jesus
Who, being in the form of God
Did not consider equality with God
Something to be used to his own advantage
Rather, he made himself nothing
By taking the form of a servant
Being made in human likeness

And being found in appearance as a man
He humbled himself
By becoming obedient to death
Even death on a cross!

Therefore God exalted him
To the highest place
And gave him the name
That is above every name
That at the name of Jesus
Every knee should bow
In heaven and on earth
And under the earth
And every tongue acknowledge
That Jesus Christ is Lord
To the glory of God the Father


13. UNDER CONDEMNATION

Let your “yes” be yes
And your “no” be no
So that you may not fall
Under condemnation


14. FIRM AND STEADFAST

Be alert and of sober mind
Your enemy the devil prowls around
Like a roaring lion
Looking for someone to devour

Resist him
Standing firm in the faith

And the God of all grace
Who called you to his eternal glory in Christ
After you have suffered a little while
Will himself restore you and make you strong
Firm and steadfast

To him be the power
For ever and ever


15. THE WISDOM OF THIS WORLD

The wisdom
Of this world

Is foolishness
In God’s sight


16. THEIR LIFE FOR ME

For whoever wants to save their life
Will lose it
But whoever loses their life for me
Will save it


17. TO OUR OWN WAY

He was pierced for our transgressions
He was crushed for our iniquities
The punishment that brought us peace was on him
And by his wounds we are healed

We all, like sheep
Have gone astray
Each of us has turned
To our own way

And the Lord has laid on him
The iniquity of us all


18. HATE EVIL

To fear the Lord is to hate evil

I hate pride
And arrogance
Evil behavior
And perverse speech


19. HIGHER THAN THE EARTH

For my thoughts are not your thoughts
Neither are your ways my ways
Declares the Lord

As the heavens are higher than the earth
So are my ways higher than your ways
And my thoughts
Than your thoughts

As the rain and the snow
Come down from heaven
And do not return to it
Without watering the earth

So is my word that goes out from my mouth
It will not return to me empty
But will accomplish what I desire
And achieve the purpose for which I sent it


20. BE PERFECT

Be perfect
As your heavenly Father is perfect


21. ALWAYS

Rejoice in the Lord always
I will say it again: Rejoice!


22. THE LIGHT WITHIN YOU

If the light within you is darkness
How great is that darkness!


23. THOSE WHO EXALT

Those who exalt themselves
Will be humbled
And those who humble themselves
Will be exalted


24. COME TO ME

Come to me
All you who are
Weary and burdened
And I will give you rest

Take my yoke upon you
And learn from me
For I am gentle
And humble in heart

And you will find rest
For your souls
For my yoke is easy
And my burden is light


25. THE DAY OR THE HOUR

Keep watch
Because you do not know
The day or the hour


26. CHOOSE LIFE

I have set before you life and death
Blessings and curses
Now choose life
So that you may live


27. WHILE HE IS NEAR

Seek the Lord while he may be found
Call on him while he is near

Let the wicked forsake their ways
And the unrighteous their thoughts

Let them turn to the Lord
And he will have mercy on them
And to our God
For he will freely pardon


28. UNDER A BOWL

You are the light of the world
A town built on a hill cannot be hidden

Neither do people light a lamp
And put it under a bowl
Instead they put it on its stand

In the same way
Let your light shine before others
That they may see your good deeds
And glorify your Father


29. TO THE PURE

To the pure, all things are pure
But to those who are corrupted and don’t believe, nothing is pure

In fact, both their minds and
Consciences are corrupted
They claim to know God but
By their actions they deny him

They are detestable, disobedient
And unfit for doing anything good


30. THE ONE WHO BOASTS

God chose the foolish things of the world
To shame the wise
God chose the weak things of the world
To shame the strong

God chose the lowly things of this world
And the despised things and the things that are not
To nullify the things that are
So that no one may boast before him

It is because of him
That you are in Christ Jesus
Who has become for us
Wisdom from God

That is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption
Therefore, as it is written:
“Let the one who boasts
Boast in the Lord”


31. PRAYER

The prayer of a righteous person
Is powerful and effective


32. THE FOOLISHNESS OF GOD

The foolishness of God
Is wiser than human wisdom
And the weakness of God
Is stronger than human strength


33. BE ON YOUR GUARD

Be on your guard
