The music presented by KADAVRIK is not easy to describe and quite rich on details. Besides a heavy portion of melodic playfulness, especially concerning the guitar work, the musicians use the broad rhythmic spectrum. This seems to be an interesting, but at the same time cumbersome approach.

Some epic parts are also part of the tracks, but in all the fast-as-an-arrow build-up leaves no time to take breath. The impelling lead guitars attach a heavy dynamics you cannot escape while listening. Some filigree solos contribute to a hymnal touch during the song Wherever My Path Leads. In between, the guys vary speed as well as rhythm and care for alternation. The keyboard plays filling parts in unobtrusive way, because the guitar wins over definitely. I only think that outstanding refrains are missing to deliver downright ear candies. Fortunately, the multi-vocal chorus of Dead Body Testament balances this deficit in felicitous way.

Wine Will Turn to Blood Again is dominated by fast melodic Black Metal, but the band forgets besides all power on catchy refrains. The brownie point of this CD is that the long term effect benefits of this way of composing. I like the tracks, because short breathers get also space to unfold, but the music does not set me aflame. Maybe the band could boost the compositions’ effect by the help of crowning refrains next time!
