Chronique @ GandhiEgo

15 Décembre 2009

Once upon a time, there was a sacred island on which the Ancient Gods of Heavy Metal reigned supreme. They gave birth to several children that later spawned their own offspring. In his old age, the God of Thrash Metal had severed his relationship with his two children, Death Metal and Black Metal. The two younger gods felt as if their glorious ancestor was living in his own dreamworld, detached from the necessities and the prayers of his cult followers and that he was growing bitter in his own secluded world.

Their glorious father felt loss especially for his prodigal son Death Metal. He was hoping for a reunion but all the odds seemed to contradict his pure wish. Yet, there was a prophecy in which it was said that a Wretched Soul would reunite father and son so they could both shine the same light over the firmament. The God of Thrash Metal waited for a very long time. As he almost gave up his hopes and cursed the ill-fated prophecy, then came the Wretched Soul

At first that Wretched Soul came almost unnoticed within the realm of the sacred island: Thrash Metal altars kept on crumbling while Death Metal temples kept on flourishing. But he had the talent of persuasion and could speak both sacred languages… He would address Thrash Metal fans with his clean and inspiring voice while he would use the guttural tones to please Death Metal followers.

The instruments he used recited the long forgotten stories of demigods that had now gone mad and forgetting of their ancient culture… Thus the stories of the great Metallica or the powerful Heathen and Sabbat were once again told with his magical voice. He would also appeal to them using the legends of a former glory much like bards of epic did in their own times.

Still that Wretched Soul was young and prone to a few mistakes... His clean voice could and should be honed to attract bigger audiences and his guttural could and should be even darker to put in trance the Deathsters...

Yet, the Wretched Soul, both old and young, both bold and at times clumsy, has a bright future and soon the reconciliation will arrive... Soon father and son will be reunited.
